I’ve been looking through the Usenet Deal Wiki and noticed there are a lot of offers listed. Kind of hard to choose. The main difference I’m seeing between them is retention days. Would it make sense to start by comparing the ones with the highest number of retention days and go from there? Thank you for any advice.

Looking through this subreddit I’ve seen a lot of people saying that usenet.nl, also known as freediscussions.com, is a scam, which I really should have looked into before signing up for it. However, I didn’t really get scammed, this was mostly a consequence of my own mistakes, and now I’m in deep shit. I started a free trial with them in late March. I already felt a bit suspicious of their website, so I gave them a fake name and address, and used a virtual visa as my card, which isn’t connected to my bank account and to my knowledge doesn’t have any of my personal information on it. The card had a balance of about $8 and any payments over that would be declined. I didn’t use their services once, didn’t even download Usenet, and promptly forgot about the trial. Eventually the trial was over, and they tried to bill me for 99 euros, because as it turns out even though I signed up for a monthly subscription that was 8.99 euros a month they stated …
Is it just me, or is there a vague shift in Plex that seems illogical from the outside?
There are some rumours about staff cut backs or developers that can’t understand the code of the previous app. I’ve even seen some people comment that they’ve vibecoded the new app. Rumours aside, what is going on? Do we have any concrete evidence to explain …
After weeks and weeks of setting everything up as perfectly as I can, I can finally sit back and enjoy my media like my users…
i7-8700k and an RTX A1000 (for HW transcoding) running off TrueNAS with the arr’s + overseerr. 80TB raw but already seeing that I’ll be needing more soon. Audiobooks are acquired totally legally and ran through a custom python script to scrape metadata from Audible and Goodreads before being added to the server for users to enjoy through Prologue.
First thing I did was to revert it, but a few days down the road it got updated by mistake again. Because I didn’t have the time to revert back (traveling), decided to give it a longer try… Bad decision…
Downloaded a load of movies and shows for a long haul flight, tested the downloads had worked at home. All ok.
Get on the plane, get tablet out, plex is logged out. I assume it’s my fault as perhaps the app updated and I hadn’t noticed.
14 hours and I had to use the airlines crappy headphones to watch rubbish.
I’ll take the L as I should have double checked at the airport - but what a joke.
(Lifetime pass user)
Edit: for anyone else, apparently if you actually put the device in airplane mode, it will work. I didn’t bother as it’s a tablet without a sim.
Edit 2: read edit one.
Edit 3: yes, I will just put on memory card in future - I shouldn’t have to though, it’s a key feature of plexpass!
Some people organize their closets, I organize my Plex library like it’s the Louvre. Who needs a social life when you can spend hours categorizing your media by genre, release year, and obscure actors no one remembers? And don’t even get me started on the metadata… it’s practically a second job. 😅 #Priorities
Hello everyone!
For the past few months, I’ve been refining Pulsarr based on valuable community feedback. I’m thrilled to share this tool with more users who might find it useful!
Pulsarr bridges the gap between Plex watchlists and content acquisition tools. It monitors watchlists (both yours and your friends’) and automatically triggers downloads through Sonarr and Radarr. The standout advantage? Everything happens directly within the Plex app - no switching between applications or collecting individual Plex tokens.
Team,
If using r/huntarr, 6.4 is a worth while upgrade to help with the usage of API requests. Also it helps the Sonarr devs identify issues since Huntarr 6.4+ provides Sonarr information regarding Huntarr with a user agent for identification. If using Huntarr, please upgrade to 6.4 to further assist!

To be clear, this workaround works for me as I have the recommended TRaSH guides custom formats already in place. Without them, this simple solution might not work as intended.
So I started looking into the differences between the DV profiles after having a few 4k remuxes cause my tvOS Plex app to crash (Apple TV 4k 3rd gen). Turns out profile 7 (or 7.6) is a no-go, unless you use Infuse for HDR10 fallback. Unfortunately, Infuse playback suffers some annoying audio sync issues for me (blaming my e-ARC setup for that), so I still prefer to use the Plex player. As a workaround, I created a simple custom format that filters out releases with both DV and REMUX in the name, as this is often profile 7 (unless specifically hybridized), and makes Radarr prefer DV encodes, which are supposed to be profile 8.
I’m posting the JSON here for you to import, as I haven’t found any existing custom format that does this:
{
"name": "DV p7.6", …
Is there a way to set up a connection for Sonarr to my phone? From time to time, I get suggested TV shows to watch at work. I would like to be able to set up the series and have them all finished by the time I get home. So that was it, don’t need to worry about forgetting about it
I’ve been using the excellent Docker Mod TheCaptain989/radarr-striptracks to remove unwanted audio and subtitle tracks in Radarr/Sonarr. However, I’ve always wanted a solution that automatically sets my preferred tracks as default/forced and doesn’t require remuxing. After searching GitHub, I found an unmaintained project (Andy2244/subby) that I decided to bring back to life and package into a Docker image to share with the community.
MKVPriority modifies track flags in place using mkvpropedit
(no remuxing, non-destructive), allowing media players to automatically select the best audio and subtitle tracks according to your preferences. Similar to custom formats in Radarr/Sonarr, MKVPriority assigns configurable priority scores to audio and subtitle tracks, which are defined in a TOML configuration file. MKV flags, such as ‘default’ and ‘forced’, are automatically set for the highest-priority tracks (e.g., 5.1 surround and ASS subtitles), while …
