Most titles are encrypted, and I don’t know the passwords. Am I missing something? I feel like there is something obvious I am missing. Using newshosting, nzbgeek and nzb-get.
Hi folks
I used to be a big usenet user back in the 90s/early 2000s , but haven’t really used it since the days when UK ISPs used to have free-to-use servers of their own, including all alt.binaries.* feeds.
Things have obviously changed.
Back in the day I used to use Grabbit (or similar) to connect to my ISPs servers….we used PAR files for error correction…..and it was all free
I think the last time is used it was when the original matrix trilogy was finishing.
Things have obviously changed.
So I’m an oldie/newbie
Looks like ISPs no longer have complete usenet servers of their own and you need to subscribe to a dedicated service (understandable)
What else do I need to know? Who should I subscribe to?
I’ve tried reading the sub’s intro docs but I already know roughly how usenet works…..it’s specifically how I should be doing it in modern times in the UK I am looking for.
Thanks in advance, and sorry for another noob …
It’s impossible to cancel your account, several users have been trying to cancel their direct debits for several months now and their support have ignored all requests. The only way to get the payment cancelled is to go through your bank. Seems super scummy at this point.
Even though technically this version isn’t updated anymore, it’s still pretty cool seeing it work pretty well on this dead platform. There are some bugs on streaming here and there (which make sense) but still extremely cool. Listening to music is probably the best use for Plex since it’s, in my opinion, easier for me than Plexamp. The show streaming can be a bit buggy sometimes, and subtitles don’t work, but apart from that, everything is awesome. It’s very cool that for now, it still works. What are your thoughts about it?
[EDIT]
I am blown away by the interest this has generated! I’m always open to feedback and I would encourage you share any suggestions or recommendations in the GitHub repo as it’s easier for me to track. I’m just a guy with a laptop with some free time every now and then, and although I can’t guarantee I will be able to implement all of the feature requests, I will certainly try.
I would also like to clarify that this is NOT a replacement for Bazarr. It’s acts as a bridge between Bazarr and Overseerr/Jellyseerr so that users can interact with it in a limited capacity, so that when a user is experiencing issues with the downloaded subtitles, they can attempt to solve it themselves before involving you, the server owner. Features such as labelling and audio preferences work independently of Bazarr and don’t require it to function.
Hey everyone!
This is a reintroduction to Overr-Syncerr, a project I first shared about 9 months ago, and it has come a long way since, and I am thankful …
Today when browsing my library, my father selected an episode of a TV show to watch. Instead of just playing it, he was prompted to select a source: my server, or Plex’s own streaming service. It hasn’t come up before, so perhaps he was doing something different, but is there a way to disable this to just always use the local server?
Here’s what I’m putting together. It’s super simple and can run unraid on it.
Beelink Mini PC, Mini S12 Pro Intel 12th N100 $169
ORICO Daisy-Chain 5 Bay Hard Drive Enclosure USB 3.1 Gen 2 Aluminum Das. I can’t find the model number but here’s a picture of it. 135.99
I just discovered thin sata cables. $9.99 for 5 pack.
And this since the dad has external usb-c. Anker Powerline II USB-C to USB 3.1 Cable 3 feet Male Black—USB Cables $11.99
How many streams in what resolution would I be able to get. Max?
Sorry to keep posting on here but my issues with the freaking Plex server. But I bought the equipment and it’s on this way.
OK, long story short, I accidentally added an adult film actress as a monitored list and now I have over A LOT of adult films in Radarr.
Is there a way to filter by MPAA rating so that I can quickly find them? I’ve deleted the list, but the movies that were added are still in monitored status.
Thank you!
Hey All,
When Radarr started spewing “Database disk image is malformed” errors, I came to Reddit and found >50 posts over the last 5+ years with folks having similar issues. For corruptions not related to upgrades, the guidance usually was to follow the wiki. The instructions there boil down to:
While none of these solutions worked, my terminal (warp.dev) suggested I try a few other options (utilizing Claude), including recreating the database from a database dump. Those didn’t work either, so it had one final suggestion:
Rebuild the database table by table.
It worked with me to build a bash script, and that worked. It dropped the table that was corrupted (for me it was the commands table), and the rest were fine. I swapped out the database and Radarr went on, with all other previous data in tact, without a hitch. …
I’ve had my setup going for a couple of years, and 99% of things run super smooth. However, there are some titles that I have always struggled to find. An example would be The Great British Bake Off, a popular show by all accounts, but it’s a grind to find episodes at times.
What options are out there for me? I currently only use Torrents. Would diving into Usenet produce better results?
I have about 10 indexers, the standard popular public ones. I haven’t researched much into how to get into private indexers, but I’d imagine that can help as well, though may be it a bit more difficult to get into because you have to know someone else.
Any thoughts/advice?
Edit: I did end up going to the usenet route.
My setup is:
Provider - Newshosting
Indexer - NZBFinder and NZBGeek
Downloader - SABnzbd
Quickly found a majority of my missing content (95%, still unable to find the last 5%). I do have a limit to API hits to minimize cost, so I’m running Torrents …
I have a series in Sonarr with all the episodes downloaded. I would like to have Sonarr replace all the current files with Megusta releases, if available. Is that possible to set up?
