Was curious about a no frills tech pouch since I wanted to reserve my GR1’s limited organization for other misc crap, not cables, bricks, etc. Saw a lot of folks recommending the Aer slim pouch, but as I was googling it, noticed that AliExpress offered it for under $12 all in, shipping included. “Worth the gamble…” I said, and ordered it, quickly forgetting I’d done so.
Welp, two weeks later, I’m the proud owner of what appears to be an honest-to-goodness Aer slim pouch. Factory second would be my best guess, though I see no obvious defects. Plenty good for a tech pouch, that’s for sure. Figured I’d share the experience in case anyone is wondering about the AliExpress approach ¯\(ツ)/¯
This is a shameless self promotion of my YouTube channel called Emerald’s Daily Carry where we do extensive backpack reviews and travel videos. We were able to chat with a few brands you probably know of about their new upcoming releases and I thought this community would love the sneak peaks 👀 https://youtu.be/qrdmGFm0uOg?si=jGFDFdJIvqdzaPdT

Fantastic, I’m extremely satisfied!
This onebag subreddit was the most helpful resource for us when we got started, so I wanted to post our story here!
After 3 years of optimization, everything I owned cost under $1700 USD in total, weighing less than 11 pounds, and fit in a tiny 10L onebag. (My wife added her 16-pound onebag setup in another post)
I’ve linked each item along with the cost and weight here: https://lighterpack.com/e/r08kbs …

I labeled in the photo below items that are my must-haves. One is the Anker 521 45W charger+battery combo, which will charge all my devices and keep ~1 extra backup charges for when I’m not near an outlet. This saved me a few times when my phone, laptop, or Oura Ring died on a flight.
I love the TIESOME palette, it’s versatile and compact. I also like the 4-in-1 make up brush I got although …
It may be that only I find this humorous…
I was packing for a 10 day trip last week (US->UK, Patagonia MLC 30) and taking the usual minimalist approach when my dear wife walks in smiling with something in her hands behind her back. She walks over and says she has a gift for my trip - a bath robe. On the plus side it was thin and light but as many of you will understand there is no way in the world a bath robe would be on the packing list.
I thanked her sincerely and you better believe that robe is in my bag. It makes me smile every time I see it.
Heading on a short trip soon and trying to pack super light. I plan to just wear one pair of shoes the entire time. I’m female and will be mostly be walking around to explore the city. No hiking or anything intense. Any suggestions?
After hours of research, it’s done.
Wool T-shirts can undoubtably decrease the volume of your packing strategy.
The main focus here are T-Shirts with low fabric weight, so they do not overheat you in warmer weather. Secondarily, they’re under 18.5 micron so they’re softer, minimal/no logos, has at least 45% wool, have no secondary materials that hold onto moisture, and all so they do not stink.
High cost, durability concerns, and SPF are understood, but not considered.
I’m usually over on r/Ultralight discussing ONLY what you need during backpacking, but r/onebag is a great cousin too.
For onebag, I like to have one of these shirts in the mix to be able to bridge me while other T-Shirts might be drying.
Please add on the T-Shirts I have missed.
Thank you.
Expected Tuesday, April 15th, 1pm NYC. $425
