EDIT : APEX 4 NOW SUPPORTED.
Hey everyone,
I love the Flydigi APEX 5 hardware (especially those motorized triggers) but it always bugged me that on PC, almost every game with awesome trigger resistance and textured feedback is built exclusively for the PS5 DualSense and the Space Station software support only few games…
So over the last few weeks, I ended up building ApexSenseBridge. (A little open-source passion project straight from France bleu blanc rouge 🇫🇷 !)
Basically, it bridges the gap so your APEX 5 can actually react to native DualSense effects in PC games.
- Triggers: The tool intercepts native DualSense trigger packets from the game and translates them on the fly into Flydigi’s FORCEADAPT commands (mode switches, recoil, resistance, stops, etc.) and even the vibration with virtually no latency.
- Haptics: The APEX 5 doesn’t have voice-coil actuators like the DualSense, so instead of just turning every …
This is my informal review/impressions of the UItimate 3e, purchased with my own money and written of my own volition as I have zero affiliation with 8bitdo or any related brands.
The Ultimate 3e arrived a little early, and it is indeed awesome! I liked the Ultimate 1 a lot, but it had bad latency and the ergonomics did not agree with my wrists at all which led to genuine pain. Wayy back then, I said I would buy the first 8bitdo controller to fix the shape, so here we are.
For context, I am a PC/Linux/Switch 2 gamer who is very senstive to input latency, very picky about dpads, and has owned or tried almost all of the hot controllers (1st or 3rd party) from the past several years. I have had many 8bitdo controllers, but all of them older: The original Ultimate, the SN30, and the Pro 2.
THE GOOD:
*The shape of the grip is SO much better. So much so that I almost forgot to mention it. It just works (for me at least), and feels very comfortable. It is not too wide (Vader 5 Pro) and …

The price listed on mihoyogift is weird because it says ¥9999, but the site is Chinese, why use yen?
and if it Chinese yuan, isn’t 9999 too much?
All controllers were purchased with my own money, and I have no affiliation with any company. These are not in any particular order of significance. Just a few notes on why I like them.
DualShock 4 - My main controller for many years. I love the shape and performance. I own over a dozen of these and only one stick has ever been plagued by drift.
GameSir T3 Lite - Best budget controller ever made. Well built, super affordable, and a performance beast. Also, I love the shape.
Nintendo 64 - I grew up on this controller. Solely responsible for my love of gamepads, and a true classic.
LeadJoy Saber Plus - Brilliant shape, amazing performance, and my favorite controller software. Everything about this controller is perfect for me minus the d-pad.
Wii U Pro - Not the best performer, but I really love the layout.
Mojhon Blitz 2 - All mechanical monster that was my favorite pad for almost a year. Only downsides being shape and outdated TMR modules.
Steam Controller 2026 - Super …
Has anyone ever used one of these? It seems like it should make the soldering and de-soldering process way easier when replacing the sticks.
Planning on installing TMRs and don’t have any past experience
Yesterday I was browsing my Bilibili feed and noticed that the Leadjoy channel was live, with their CEO, Feng-ge doing a Q&A stream.
Since I don’t speak Chinese, I recorded about two hours of the stream, converted the speech to Chinese subtitles using Whisper, and then used ChatGPT to create a translated summary. I also watched the full two-hour stream recording with the translated subtitles, and the summary is mostly spot-on. That said, as with anything AI-generated, take it with a grain of salt.
Disclaimer: I’m not affiliated with Leadjoy. You should always rely on official announcements and news for confirmed information. Source is the live stream https://live.bilibili.com/31699542 but VOD is disabled.

Saw this bag at marshalls. Seems pretty nice except I wish It could open from both sides. Bottle holder seems a bit odd too.
For a long time I’ve been using waist bags and crossbody bags that would end up being destroyed in 3-4 uses - was always picking the cheapest one (2-5 USD) knowing that I will destroy it and stuff lots of things inside until it breaks. Last month my gf bought me the North Face Terra 3L, she saw me looking at it repeatedly over the last months… Oh god, I never knew what a quality zipper on a small bag would feel like - opening and closing it is a pleasure and the way I can put water just on it and not inside of it is making one hell of a difference. I guess the bags just got a new view in my eyes - the bad thing is that I have 3 long trips coming in the next two months and I am trying to one bag them, I guess shopping bags will be a new hobby.
Had been looking at options for a compact way to lug around my OP-1 and realised that it’s almost the same dimensions as a Steam Deck/Switch etc., so I started looking at bags built specifically for them.
Turns out it’s a perfect fit, and sits nicely even with the decksaver synth cover on the OP-1.
Came across the Genki Saya Carry and thought I’d give it a go.
It’s got plenty of internal organisation. The ‘console’ pouch is just plain padded, but you have access at the side via the Fidlock, so there’s no need to unzip it all the way to get the console/synth out.
The main compartment has a soft padded separator and plenty of elastic loops to organise stuff, plenty of room for wires, powerbank, chargers etc.
Little front pocket with a key leash.
Small back pocket.
Seems like a great bag, the only dislike is the whole back of it is neoprene which is both sweaty and probably long term a bit too stretchy, so not sure how it will hold up where the straps/handle are anchored.
I …
Looks like Rework is coming out with V2 in Xpac. Apparently there’s also going to be a 25L version.
I thought you folks might appreciate how excited I am to have this bag. As a many bagger, this beast brings me so much joy.
No more getting stuck in doorways with wide over -the-shoulder hockey bags and wheelie bags are awful going up and down stairs. This one is surprisingly easy to carry, fits ALL of my gear, and it could easily double add a body bag if the need arises.
What’s the biggest bag you own?
I just finished four weeks traveling through northern Spain and southern France with the Osprey Daylite 26+6, moving mostly by rail and bus and averaging about two nights per destination over 14 locations. I did laundry in hotel sinks and showers. I packed too much, and I packed the wrong clothes. For this kind of fast-moving trip, I now think reducing pack volume is essential primarily because it forces you to reduce weight.
Linen chore coat: Wore it only on the flights. August was far too hot otherwise.
Lightweight travel pants: I wrongly assumed people in Spain and France mostly wore long pants in cities, even in summer. Shorts were extremely common, especially among people under 60. I could have worn khaki golf shorts and packed only one pair of running/hiking shorts.
Merino T-shirts: My biggest clothing mistake. I love merino, but even lightweight merino was too hot. I bought a navy Uniqlo AIRism shirt and a white Dry-Ex shirt, and they became the heroes of …
Got a bit of funk in the pits of your $80 t shirt, that’s not coming out with all of the approved merino care directions?
We’ll skip the long discussion about the technical reasons why the various merino soaps or dry cleaning (wool and princes rescue idea) failed at a chemical level per the underlying issue, here’s the fix.
Dawn free and clear, or Palmolive pure and clear - unscented. Yes, dish detergent.
Soak the pits in warm water.
Apply 1⁄8 tsp straight to the pits and massage in for a minute.
Let sit for 5 minutes.
Rinse a LOT to fully remove soap.
Launder the rest as you normally would.
That rescued 10 shirts that I’d about given up on.
$1 of dish soap in a small purell bottle is a new permanent addition to my one bag.
Hopefully this helps someone!
(Lots of great thoughts in the below - pits hair is short, use Harp syndet soap which is amazing, and weleda spray - I don’t have very stinky pits, until it gets embedded in a merino shirt …
I write this because all sizer posts I could find about this bag were using old (larger) bag sizers. Officially, the bag is 2cm too long (42cm vs the allowed 40cm), but even though it was stuffed to the point where it was difficult to close, I was still able to massage it into both the Ryanair (not pictured) and Wizz Air (attached) sizers when asked at the gate. It required a little shoving as always, but fit easily within the Ryanair and Wizz air sizers with even some room to spare.
I recently got back from a week-long dance trip – we were required to bring plenty of dance attire as well as clothes to wear after practices, making it a slightly unusual packing list. I did some laundry in the sink, so the quantities reflect that:
just did 2 weeks in aussie with fair amount of mountains and hiking, and only 3d later im headed to vietnam for another 12 days! looking for some packing advice.
ive tried to pack as minimally as possible by not bringing my laptop and reducing the amount of clothes im bringing, especially because i intend to go there to shop for more stuff like waterproof jackets and pants.
i usually stay in hotels and airbnbs so its my firstime fully backpacking, and first time going solo, would appreciate all advice! also going on the hagiang loop, and was considering bring another 15-20L ish backpack, not sure if i should.
edit: what else am i missing besides …
Video report at B’s Garage Reviews on YT.
Took the Smart Alec on a five day trip to the Northeast and have had a great experience.
The ballistic material is fairly slick making sliding to/from seat a breeze compared to rougher cordura.
Top loading made accessing items in the seated position much easier than clamshell, zippers slide smoothly for one handed or awkward position access.
Handy Little Thing size 2 can dock on the exterior or ride in the main compartment as needs/ size dictates. Included carabiner attachment can be tricky at times, not quite as seamless as hoped but functional.
Overall between the bag and HLT I had 28 liters to work with which were not completely utilized. Smart Alec became the onsite day pack and did well in that role with ease of slinging to the front for side pocket access as needed.
Frame sheet may make this better as the bag will bow outward like a beach ball when getting full, that’s on order. Overall did not miss the clamshell style had used and …
I recently asked here about replacing my Farpoint daypack with a Daylite Plus and all that jazz. Then I realized, “Hey, why not go with just one bag?”. So i bought the Daylite 26+6 to use instead for 4 day trips. I also bought some packing packing cubes for organization. I wanted to pack better than the mess I brought to Wisconsin Dells with no organization and a huge backpack [Farpoint 55].
So my trip is to New Orleans for Labor Day weekend. It’s with me and mom for a family day. The only thing is that it’s gonna be rainy so that’s gonna be interesting. But in the trip report I’ll add the details of the trip. Now on to the packing list.
Backpack: Daylite Plus 26+6
Outside bag: Rei Co-op Travel Kit - I put it outside because it’s a “dirty” bag. I’m a germophobe ok?
Outside bag contents: Brondell portable bidet - That’s why
Backpack contents:
- Eagle Creek Pack It Reveal Medium and Small
- Thule Compression Bag …
I, for one, am very excited to spend an inordinate amount of money on a bag whose technical qualities I will never actually test or put to the limit. LOL
I wanted a better way to organize the smaller stuff I carry, without permanently modifying the backpack, so I designed and made this removable/drop-in EDC MOLLE panel.
The panel is designed to drop directly into the suspended stretch sleeve inside the backpack. It sits securely in the sleeve while giving me a dedicated, modular organization area for my EDC gear.
The main goal was flexibility. Any MOLLE-compatible accessory can be mounted to the panel, so you’re not locked into a specific pouch or layout.
The webbing organization can also be moved and repositioned depending on what you’re carrying and how you want to organize it. This lets you change the setup without having to rebuild the whole panel.
I also 3D printed some custom MOLLE clips that work with Fidlock accessories. This lets me quickly attach and remove certain items using the Fidlock magnetic system while still keeping everything integrated with the MOLLE panel.
The lower section gives me additional MOLLE …
Here you go, here’s all the details on the new system. It is a CTB 26 and assorted goodies
The new bag is supposed to use lightweight material, but the description says it’s heavier than the CPL24, and only 4.5 oz lighter than the standard CTB26. And yet it’s $150 more???? I thought a primary point of Ultra was reduced weight by comparison.
I’m deciding which yeti rambler (with chug cap) to buy to use as my everyday water bottle to drink throughout the day. I will occasionally take it with me inside my CPL 16. the main compartment has plenty of space for either bottle but would appreciate your recommendation based on real world use.
edit: the reason I am looking at yeti is because it is much easier to clean in the dishwasher after removing the silicone to keep in the top rack.
