Excuse my excitement, my dream pack is complete. A design pizza as they say, a healthy mix of the RFF24, A31, Conceal and MRUA24 packs. So many lessons learned when building this (my second pack ever) and I am more, MORE than pleased.
My toddler calls packs, Hap Backs, so shall it be.
Took delivery of a MR District 24 this week. Wanted a new EDC Work pack with room for some particular gear + a water bottle pocket. Missing from my CPL24.
I’ve got to say that first impressions are that it’s a hell of a bag. Comfort is 10⁄10 and there is so much versatility in the layout. Options are endless. I think I could even make this work for OBT over a weekend with a packing cube.
Key attributes for me so far:
Once half packed it stands up Two water bottle holders Clamshell opening Quick access pocket holds A4 binder Straps are super comfortable Wears quite slim even when packed out
I’ve been a recent convert to crystal deodorant (brand is irrelevant) and wanted to share a few things that mitigate the downsides of this amazing product.
The big downside that people talk about with crystal deodorant is that it only really works if you don’t already have any BO going.
This is because of how it works, it won’t really meaningfully kill the bacteria causing the scent, it just prevents them from proliferating after you’ve applied it.
Enter alcohol and hand sanitizer. If you already have some BO going, just apply some alcohol spray or hand sanitizer to your armpits and then apply the deodorant using that liquid as the lubrication. Voila, you can reapply it as necessary and the alcohol will kill the bacteria that have already colonized your armpits.
If you’re not already familiar with crystal deoderant, one of the biggest advantages of it is that it doesn’t leave any sort of residue: this is huge for merino wool. I noticed that some …
Ok, so me and my lady tried 1 bagging for the first time, on our first ever journey across Asia together. I wanted to write up what we did, what’s worked and what hasn’t so it can be a sort of case-study for other people looking to do the same as us.
I will update this post with more information as I learn it. I’ll get my partner to update with her stuff too. There’s a YT called wehatethecold for anyone interested in travel
So to start off our travel, we wanted to do it as budget as possible and with as little stuff as possible. Here are the guides we set for ourselves:
Seven weeks in England/Ireland later this year and wanted to see how (if) it would all fit. It did! 25 pounds into a Peak backpack in 35L mode. Any obvious improvements from you more experienced one baggers?
I finally picked a new bag. I loaded them up to about 20lbs to test them out. Here are the ones I considered and some thoughts:
Cotopaxi Allpa 35 https://www.cotopaxi.com/products/allpa-35l-travel-pack
I love how the bag looks, and the organization is great, and size is perfect. No water-bottle holder which is annoying, but I could live with it. But the waist straps ran across my stomach.

The hip belt was better on this one. But the bag was kinda saggy. I felt like I was wearing a garbage bag or was a ninja turtle. I couldn’t find a Del Dia colorway I liked, and I didn’t like the TPU material on the regular bags. The one I tried out already had scuffs on it.
Dakine Split Adventure 38 https://www.amazon.com/dakine-split-adventure-38l-backpack/s?k=dakine+split+adventure+38l+backpack
I wanted to like this bag. I liked how it looks–like a regular backpack. Clam-shell, good …
Futurecore Warmshirt is so cozy and looks really sharp. It may be the best shirt for driving in the winter. It’s easy to wear and has plenty of room to move your arms. Very professional if you get pulled over as well. I keep being surprised by how versatile and unique this piece is.
A lightweight and strong F.Cloth pant, cut using long darts instead of side seams to create a free moving and tapered silhouette.
Now available in Deep Ink, Tannic, Sagebrush, Sandstorm, Dark Navy, Charcoal and Black
The most recent iteration of these are softer than ever. You guys are crazy for not buying all up and I hope it somehow finds its way back because these were one of the best things Outlier made (it seems like they’ll eventually kill everything I love, first 6030s and now this).
A gusseted t-shirt in a cotton unlike any other. An 8oz, mercerized and bio-polished cotton jersey; heavyweight yet super-breathable; soft and smooth to the touch but with a serious off-the-body structure.
Now available in PFP White, GD Winedark, GD Black and GD Olive Territory
Hi. Has anyone found a worthy alternative to the https://outlier.nyc/products/polyamour-precision-belt ? I got it a few months back and although I enjoyed the look, feel, and functionality, the suede buckle covering is coming undone (I think the glue Outlier used was too weak or applied insufficiently), so now I’m looking for an alternative that has the same minimalist clean front look, magnetic precision buckle, and most importantly, durability. Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks!
Hey y’all - the Outlier hats (plus a few others I’ve tried lately - Seagale, Lulu, etc) have illustrated to me that my head needs a shallow crown.
Any recommendations for quality baseball hats (preferably without logo) that have a shallow crown? So far all I’ve found are running hats with super small brims, and I need more of a daily driver. TY!
