I used to watch several youtube channels that cover bags but I actually lost interest in almost all of them. For several reasons, and I admit that some of those issues apply to all of youtube or at least other topics as well.
Not a bad word. I wonder when I saw the last video that had an overall negative review of a bag. Sure, everyone mentions a few cons but I can’t remember a recent video form the big ones that said: don’t buy this crap.
Clickbaiting. I hate it when every video’s thumbnail is titled Best new EDC? or My new Favorite? Or the ones that suggest a bag might be a total disaster but then it gets a recommendation.
Minimalist Consumerism. How should I take channels serious that promote minimalism but tell me every two weeks which products on Amazon I absolutely have to buy. Or when recommended packlists feature pen and paper for 100$ combined when I can get those for a few cents or for for free at tradeshows. I get it that you want to buy high quality for …

Travel deodorant has always been one of the more frustrating things for me to buy before a trip. I don’t like antiperspirant and often plain deodorant is very limited in what scents you can get or still really bulky. Crystal deodorants don’t last long enough for me either sadly.
Luckily someone here mentioned buying empty mini deodorant containers and filling them yourself by melting down a bigger stick in the microwave for 10-20 seconds. Worked great! I bought these empties:

I selected and paid for the 10 pack, but they sent me the 25 pack for the same price. Each one lasts me about a week, so the box I made (took 15 minutes) of these little 0.5oz deodorants should last me a LONG time. Great tip, thanks!
No checked baggage, no stress, no waiting around. I wore every item I brought at least twice and didn’t miss a thing. Now I can’t imagine going back to overpacking. Anyone else have a “less is freedom” travel moment?
Hi team!
A bit about the trip: I’m about to set off to Japan for 9 days/8 nights, although 2 of those days are basically full travel days. I’ve got a couple days in Tokyo, a couple days in Kyoto, a day trip to Osaka, and a day trip to the countryside near Kyoto. I am doing a lot of cool stuff, from bike rides to food tours to a baseball game to enjoying Tokyo nightlife to its fullest, which means I have a solid range of outfits.
Now to the packing list!
Clothes in compression bag (The cat hair is part of the fit):

A magnetic “zipper” shirt experiment [#528] in the open yet opaque Injected Linen. A long and slim cut “button up” with no buttons (except at the cuff), at the center placket is a zipper style magnetic closure for easy wear and styling possibility.
A conversation with @abe1x of @outlier and @ahmarialford about maintaining a clothing brand’s core identity while evolving and resisting the urge to lean on cliches or chase trends.
A loose and easy wearing fatigue pocket pant in the open yet opaque Injected Linen fabric. Elastic waist with a 3Bar + paracord drawcord for comfort and adjustability. Fatigue style patch pockets in the front, jeans style in back. Plus a big fifth pocket in the front and keyloop in the back.
A tension front pant with a crossover flow in the open yet opaque, Injected Linen fabric. Two tendrils of fabric cross the front of the pants, holding them up by tension. They can be tied in the front or back for extra security or left free for effect, while the incredibly breathable Injex fabric does its thing.
I recently got some olivewash injected linen pants - and I’m surprised by the color of them. They’re much lighter than I thought they would be; I’d put the hue closer to a blue-grey or even a teal than olive. I’m really struggling to figure out how I’d wear them.
Has anyone else gotten these pants? Was the color what you expected?
edit: I added a picture.
I’m looking for alternatives to jeans. I’ve never been a fan of denim jeans. How do you like them? How is the fit?
