For those interested. These are the controllers I tested.

Here are the currently available ‘Pro’ controllers for the Nintendo 64 (30 years after release, how amazing is that?) all purchased by myself, no sponsors… just a man with a controller obsession…
Top Left is the new Brawler 64 Pro by Retrofighters. They have made N64 controllers for awhile now and have been a great alternative for people that dislike the trident (those people are wrong though) and comfortable to hold. Still need to test it more as ai just received it today but so far it’s nice, D pad is clicky and it came with anextra swappable faceplate in a darker color. It is going for $100CAD.
Top Right is the 8bitdo 64 controller (in bluetooth, not 2.4 but you can get one with the dongle for the same price as the bluetooth version) designed for the Analogue 3D FPGA N64 console. 8bitdo has been making controllers for awhile but this is their first N64 style one. To play on a OG N64 without the 2.4 version you would need to purchase a BlueRetro adapter for the N64 but is very …
Hello all, here’s a round-up of controller news from the past month, including IFA Berlin and Tokyo Game Show. Wishing you a happy autumn in the north, spring in the south, and hump day everywhere!

Marius MH-XSX replacement circuit boards for Microsoft’s Xbox Series/model 1914 controllers are now available for wholesale (and thus available via various custom controller builders). Like the equivalent Marius boards for DualShock 4 and DualSense controllers, these have 8kHz polling rate (on PC) and are available in versions which can be fitted with 5-pin or 3-pin stick sensors.
Mobapad C2 Lite is a cost-reduced version of the Chitu 2 for Nintendo Switch. It has Hall Effect stick sensors and internal restriction rings (‘glide rings’), with two rear buttons, an RGB lighting strip, and mobile app support for changing settings. It uses the Switch 1 protocol, with additional mobile and PC …
This is a repost from the Steam Controller community, but I am reposting here because it has multiple controllers support!
-- Last time I posted here Linux was by far the most asked thing. It’s done!
The whole app was rewritten, bug fixes, new interface, and new controller support!
Steam Controller gets trigger clicks, varied clicks that dynamically change the further you pull. Cleaned wireless ticking through the Puck and Bluetooth, and it reconnects / restarts itself when Steam starts or quits. So it doesn’t need Steam anymore.
DualSense and DualSense Edge are supported now. Triggers vibrate with the beat of whatever’s playing, live! Custom trigger effects exist elsewhere, but as far as I know triggers that react to your audio haven’t been done before. There’s also speaker support over USB, haptic and rumble vibration styles, and both USB and Bluetooth support.
Steam Deck built-in controls rumble with your audio too! Xbox, 8BitDo and most other …
Here are my modded DualSense Edge’s.
All 3 have new shells and Clicky Face Kits from Extremerate, as well as increased stick tension TMR stick modules from Battlebeaver. They also all have aftermarket batteries installed.
The all black has the updated back shells with a grippy texture, as well as Talon Grips on the front shell.
My grey one shell/buttons are a combo of Extremerate and Aliexpress to try and copy the anniversary edition. It also has the 4 button kit from Extremerate.
I have this Chinese controller vilcorn z03 and the rubber is starting to giving out. any idea what kind of joystick caps are these maybe they’re clones of something? Can’t find anything online.
a few months ago my wife surprised me with tickets to a Red Sox game which often have themed nights and corresponding merchandise (i.e., for Teacher Appreciation Week, they had baseball hats with apples and pencils on them). Without giving away what the theme of our game was, she hinted that I, a lifetime hotdog fan, would specifically enjoy it. Sure enough, it was hotdog night, and we each got one of these bags with our tickets.
Now, I knew that I would adore this bag simply because of the premise and the sweet memory it would always be associated with. But what I didn’t realize is how SOLID this actually is for an everyday sling. It has two pockets – the first main compartment has a mesh liner on the inside to keep things stable like your wallet, headphones, etc. while still having enough room to use the main pocket to hold your phone or even an ereader (my Kobo Clara Colour fits beautifully). but the best is the back pocket – which is fully insulated. It was …
Didn’t get as lucky as some people with the $50 tags, but I’ll take it.
I could buy a day bag or I could do this. I’d probably buy a smaller Dragonfly if they made one.

The two backpacks came from a small batch group but organized in the Facebook page.
First of all I want to mention, that I have used PU Coated / Aquaguard zippers in the past before. I use the shoulder pouch and waist pack from CTUG and have as no real issues with their zippers. More on that later.
I purchased the Matador Refraction Pro and have been using it for a few weeks as a day trip and/or quick gym bag. I just needed something light that I can go in and out and to use as day pack.
I really like the design details of the bag from the silhouette, added admin pocket, the awesome water bottle pockets, all the way down to the little strap zippers. But the PU coated zippers have been a REALLY frustrating experience. Zipping up any of the zippers is stiff and inconsistent experience. The zippers are much stiffer than my previous experience with PU coated zippers. At first, I honestly thought I got a defective batch or that these zippers would improve overtime. I even added a tiny bit of silicone grease to see if I can reduce the stickiness and friction. It helps a …
Picked up a Red Matador GlobeRider 35L today at my local TJ Maxx!
I checked two of the smaller TJ Maxx locations near me first and had no luck. I finally went to the largest TJ Maxx in my area and found this one sitting in the luggage section.
So, if you’re hunting for one, my suggestion would be to start with the biggest TJ Maxx/Marshalls-type store in your area rather than spending time checking all the smaller locations. Obviously, inventory is going to vary by store, but these seem to be showing up sporadically.
Also, if anyone here works at TJ Maxx or has insight into how these are being distributed, are they slowly releasing these to stores, or was this more of a one-and-done shipment? Trying to figure out whether it’s worth checking back at other locations to grab another one, or if I just got lucky finding this one. Hopefully this helps anyone else who’s been looking for one.
4 days in Seville from London, budget airline - needed to make the 40x30x20cm size restriction - AER Go Pack, Ultra custom sling from Arch_ind in the front pocket (for the destination), plane stuff/passport/tech in an Evergoods Cap1, electric toothbrush, pellegrino water bottle, med/dopp kit, and three small cubes from Triple Aught Design - inside was mostly linen/lightweight stuff - 2 pair of linen shorts, 1 athletic short, 3 linen shirts, 3 merino underwear, 1 athletic shirt, 2 pair of socks plus I wore a linen shirt on the plane, linen pants and had a Taylor Stitch Ojai Overshirt made from seersucker - easy and more than I needed but had the room.
Sold everything I own and am traveling full time - main bag is a 22L Arch_ind - I’ll share photos of it sometime.
For me? I love bringing shower shoes that have holes on the bottom of it. Although it isn’t needed, it feels a lot better than going in bare-foot, and the holes allow the water to drain and dry really quickly!
I have done a practice pack for my trip next weekend. It’s not bursting but there’s not a lot of space for souvenirs either.
The bag seems to bulge and sag a bit despite (because of?) not being rammed. I’ll have to pray it still fits the Ryanair sizer.
This is my first time one-bagging and a practice for a week in Copenhagen at the end of October where I’m hoping I can get away with taking pretty much exactly the same, maybe chuck in a merino base layer and wear a warmer coat.

I’ve done overnight work trips before with just a backpack before. For those trips my backpack was the Tom Bihn Synapse 25. I got it back in 2014 and has been my EDC work bag for over a decade. Superb bag. I’ve been able to use a packing cube to pack enough clothes for overnight trips along with my laptop, tech pouch, toiletry kit, notebook and other paperwork.
I’ve found that even for overnight trips, 25L is about the limit for the bag. Fully packed out and approaching 20lbs, it also wasn’t the most comfortable to walk around with for extended periods. For any trip over 2 days I’d carry a roller and backpack but it was always packed to 30% capacity and my backpack with pretty lightly packed as well. I always felt that if I had a slightly larger backpack I could one-bag it.
The hunt was on for a bag that could handle multi-day work trips. My criteria were as follows:
1. Capacity for 2 packing cubes (one medium, one small). Enough clothes for …
Just curious how many one baggers here are on team-cotton with me.
Years ago I tried the merino thing for travel and just didn’t like it for base layers. I love wool for sweaters and have a few nice buttonups as well, but I never wear the base layers I bought and always wear cotton shirts underneath the sweaters and button ups.
I also don’t like the “drape” of merino. The softer shirts hang on the body in a way that accentuates curves (i.e. Moobs).
One pro that people rave on about is actually a con for me. I actually want my tshirts and boxers to absorb sweat and keep it from running down my body. Who wants butt and crotch sweat running down their legs.
Also, I feel the odor and quick drying aspect a little over blown in practice. I’m not rewearing anything I’ve sweated much in. But I’ll rewear cotton shirts after a day airing out no problem. Plus, I can shower/sink wash 100% cotton tshirts, my 97% cotton boxers and socks and they will usually be dry in 24hrs—faster if I have …

Replaced the leather zipper pulls with the olive zipper pulls to match
Mine came in today! A few initial thoughts:
- It’s heavy! I expected that based on the specs, from my experience with a CPL16, and it being waxed canvas, but it’s definitely noticeable when you first pick it up. Once packed out it isn’t as noteworthy
- I like the feel of the leather zipper pulls, but I may eventually change them to olive pulls as some already have
- A leather top handle may have paired well with leather zipper pulls… may eventually try adding one on to see how it looks
- Stretch mesh for external water-bottle pockets would have been great, as the pockets that come with the waxed-canvas bags are not great
- Like the MPL22, using the water-bottle pockets eats a bit into the bag’s interior, and like the MPL22, it becomes hard to put a CAP2 horizontally at the bottom of the bag when using both pockets… I may use just one pocket and keep one bottle inside the bag, which will also allow me to more easily use the bag’s side handle
All in all I’m happy with the bag, and …
CTB20 & CAP2 got delivered today. Had to take an updated family portrait
Anyone know what this new pouch is?
