WARNING: Long post with lots of links to picture albums.
I can’t help myself. I wish I could. I have problems. Thanks for putting up with me.
Following up on my 40L-45L comparison, then my 35L-45L comparison, and my 6L-9L sling adventures, I now have my 26L-30L backpack comparisons!
Part of the reason my sizing keeps going down is I’m getting better (IMHO) at minimizing and packing (thanks to experience, gear, and the r/ManyBaggers & r/onebag communities). In this pack, I’ve got a 3 (could easily be 5) day work trip packed:
After my last post, you’d think it’d be a while before I post again! And I thought so too! But here I am again with a very quick one. I need to decide if I’m keeping the ULA Dragonfly 36 or not. So I decided to put it up against my other 35L bags.
My pack is very similar to the prior post. I did consolidate my plane quick grab items. It’s still a 3 (could easily be 5) day work trip:
Just got my Ctactical order in. Ct21 v3 and kids bag in orange and a camo ct3 sling. Apologies for the lines in the picture, I don’t know how to make it not do that lol.
Frigging love them. Love that me and my boy have matching orange bags.
My main go to bag is a GORUCK gr1 26 liter, these ctactical bags really hold their own. Shockingly well, especially the upgrade to the v3 with its better straps. I had a v2
If anyone has any questions comparing them to GORUCK, let me know, definitely worth a check if you like the gr bags.
What a difference b/w “mainstream” bags!
I’ve always just picked up what’s on sale at the box stores, or trekked around with hand-me-down bags. The attention to detail from niche bag makers is brilliant and the quality is so nice.
Thanks /r/manybaggers! (A19 Evade 1.5)
Jetblue personal item sizer. Bag not too stuffed full in the length direction. Fits pretty good
The bag was fully packed for a 7 day Italy trip. Served me well. Can’t quite say it “fits” but since I’m not the tallest person It didn’t bother me. I hope this helps someone. This is the 23L version. I was on seat “D” which has the smallest underseat space. It didn’t fit sideways and i pushed it all the way.
First time onebagging and I set off tomorrow from Australia to Japan for 2 weeks, with a plan to cover Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and wherever the freedom of onebaggjng takes me.
Clothes packed: - 7 t shirts - 4 shorts, two doubling as swim shorts - 1 pair of pants - 1 pullover jumper - 1 button up shirt - 8 jocks - 8 socks - cap - thongs - shoes I’m wearing on the flight
Electronics/extras: - Bose QC35II with aux table and connector for the flight - Kindle - Charging brick - Adaptor - Disposable camera - Toiletries - Sunnies - Wipes for those tray tables that never get cleaned, yuck - Extra plastic bag for laundry (plan is to get away with just the single wash halfway through).
Hopefully I’m not forgetting anything! I’ll report back in 2 weeks with how I went. At this point my only real fear is taking the bag as carry-on. I’m hopefully to avoiding checking anything ever again after I was burned by Qantas losing my luggage twice — the thing that lead me to exploring onebagging in the first …
curious as to how many pairs of undergarments yall are bringing for your one bag adventures
underwear, bras for those who wear them, and socks
i know people who bring as few as 3 pairs of underwear and i’m wondering what habits or tips people have since 3 seems quite few to me lmao
edit: everything is relative so how often yall do laundry too?
Dragonfly 36L just delivered! See pictures for side-by-side comparisons/ contrasts with the 30L version. Just be aware my 30L version is robic (I think? Got it secondhand a while ago) whereas the 36L is Ultra.
Feel free to ask me any questions or if anyone wants more pictures of the 36L!
So far I’m pretty impressed! The extra space will be nice for my trip to Europe in the Fall!
A key piece for your keys. The top half attaches to a belt loop while the magno-mechanical Fidlock bottom is the fastest and easiest way to access keys we’ve found.
Outlier’s Boxford is my favorite cut for button up that I have ever worn. I own/have owned it in Ramienorth, Hemp137 and Acottontwill. So as you can imagine, I was delighted when Outlier reached out to let me try out the Boxford in a new material for them, Apaperycotton. As I’m sure the majority of you know, whenever you see an Outlier material name with the A at the front like that, it means the fabric is from Italian shirting and cotton masters Albini.
In the video the shirt had just been taken out of the package and was not steamed or ironed, the creases you see were already gone a few hours after wear. I probably wont be ironing it since it’s I don’t find it necessary and if anything I like the casual vibe it has. Hopefully the video gives you an idea of how the fabric moves and feels.
Sizing/Color
I am 5’9, 135 lbs and wear a Small in Boxfords for its intended relaxed fit. I can size down to an XS if I want a more standard fit but the cut of the Boxford is relaxed and …
