I seam ripped the front panel off my favorite Arc’teryx day pack. I copied the panel and added a vertical zipper to the new panel. I joined the two panels together and sewed them back into the bag. It created a new pocket big enough for some beefy gloves and my wind-shell. I removed the ice axe loops, daisy chains, and a few other features to clean it up a little. The new fabric panel is UltraGrid and I got the purple zipper is YKK Uretek.
I use the bag as my EDC but I also bike commute with it and do general outdoor stuff.
Everything I could want in a daily EDC bag. Ultra comfortable, awesome materials, plenty of space, all while looking great!
This is the second bag I’ve acquired along side my MR 2DAP which has been wonderful for school/work!
The conveyor belt stopped, and we were still waiting, when they approached and showed me their tracking tag info. We shared some worries and then as I walked off, they said “Hey! I wanted to ask how you like the bag? (Aer TP3 xpac)”
I told him I liked it a lot, but it was a bit heavy when empty, and it was my first “fancy” bag. He showed me his Camelback and mentioned he also had a Cotopaxi. I asked if he was a member of r/ManyBaggers, but he gave me a blank look so I pulled it up on my phone and watched as he did the same & joined!
I don’t know if this is a hobby, but it was fun finding another enthusiast in the wild.
Welcome to the support group, friend! And I hope we both get our lost luggage sorted out…
Couldn’t pass this one up yesterday for eight dollars. Does anybody have any info on this one I couldn’t seem to find anything that directly correlates online.
For body reference I’m a 5’2 woman, 120lbs. The pack looks larger on me than it does on a man but at 4L, it’s a good mid size pack. The bottom straps are great for a water bottle but the bottle does want to slide out if I wear it on my back. A compact tripod would probably be no problem though. What it holds: My everyday carry includes my wallet, sunglasses, ereader (I have a Kobo Clara 2E with cover, similar size to Kindle Basic), an A5 Moleskine notebook, pencil pouch (not pictured) earbuds, case for my invisalign trays, and other small things like keys and chapstick. I didn’t show the back pocket but it holds my Samsung phone with a case on it. It also holds my Nikon Z30 plus a tiny tripod, but I have to take out the ereader and notebook which is fine because I’m never carrying all of these things on the same occasion. If I were I would just use a backpack rather than a sling. I mainly got this bag to carry my camera around and have easy access to grab …
—My Yap First time traveling and out with the Cotopaxi 42L monster pack! A little about myself, I haven’t traveled on a trip for more than 2 days since I was a child. Similarly, I haven’t left the country since I was a child meaning this is a whole new experience for me. I’ve been learning Japanese for about 4 years, off-and-on, mostly because of loving city-pop. Despite all this study I’ve never gotten the chance to go until now. I always dreaded travel, especially because of the prospect of lugging luggage around. It just always seemed like a pain and one of the worst parts of traveling. Looking back to when I was a kid, the worst parts of any vacation was always something to do with consolidating or moving luggage. Until a few weeks ago I honestly didn’t know a community of travelers like all of you existed who felt (sort of) the same way!
I love the community you guys have here, trying to travel as light as possible, and I envy the people who can just pack up a few t-shirts …
After spending a week reading reviews and watching videos, I finally decided on three travel bags: • Patagonia Mini MLC 30L – for my boyfriend • Osprey Daylite 26+6 – for me (Female, 160cm) • CabinZero Military 28L – for my dad
I was looking for bags that fit well under an airplane seat, are comfortable to carry, and can hold about a week’s worth of clothes. Based on what I read, these seemed like the best options for our needs.
I also got the Eagle Creek Compression Cube Set (S/M) because I saw that it fits well in all three bags.
I’ll compare them all after gifting them and share what we each think! If you’ve used any of these, let me know your thoughts!
This is just a little note to say thank you so much to everyone on here - I managed my first 3 night business trip with one bag thanks to all the advice on here. You guys also cost me a bunch of money in all the great recommendations for gear and ways to decant my toiletries. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the process of being more mindful about what I pack. Unpacking at my hotel and repacking to go home too a lot less time and stress so thank you.
Hi All,
As a lot of people on this sub, I’m sporting an Osprey 26+6 for many scenarios. Inspired by others, I’ve done a few modifications to it for better meet my needs and get more utility out of it.
I’ve done the following: * Undone the seam for the rightmost pencil holder to make the rightmost pocket wide enough to comfortably fit my passport and a power bank. * Cut off the flimsy red keyring holder and attached an S-carabiner instead. * Wired a bungle cord though the outside loops to allow me to stuff a jacket there when needed.
Have you made any similar modifications to your backpack that you would recommend?

I was playing with different options for stands for a portable monitor and realized I could just place the monitor directly on the roost stand without having to add anything. Anyone else use the roost stand like this?
I’m on the hunt for a good pair of travel pants (something lightweight, comfortable, and not too bulky). Bonus points if they have a bit of stretch, zipper pockets and don’t look too “hiker-y.” I’ll be using them for everything from long-haul flights to hiking trails, so versatility is key.
What should I be looking for? Any go-to brands you swear by?
I wrote my initial review of the Cannabiscotton 107s 7 months ago, and since then, I’ve worn them most days except when traveling. To be clear, I’ve worn them so much because they’ve been what I genuinely want to be wearing, not because I’m trying to do an experiment. They have become my favorite pants for WFH, lounging, dog walks, casual outings, and errands. For my taste, they have an upper limit of about 75 F and a lower limit of about 20 F with light leggings.
The fabric itself has shown no signs of damage. There are no rips or snags, no thinning, and all the seams have held up well. The color remains a beautiful deep earth olive with some fading in certain areas and at seams, but that is expected with natural fabric and is desirable to me. The fabric maintains its smooth, cool, dry hand feel that it …
A pant that wears like a short, made from a fabric remarkably open to the air yet opaque to the eye. Linen’s dry touch and beautiful aging character meets a radical warp-knit weft-insertion technique to create an ideal summer pant. Bulk buy eligible.
Now available in RD Psilocybin, RD Grapesmoke and RD Olivewash
I’m sure you guys get this type of question twice a week.
I’m looking through the current product lineup and can’t seem to find the 2025 equivalent of the Strong Dungarees from 2018. I love the cut, the weight, and everything about them. I understand the pattern may have changed and these may have become reincarnated as something else.
Which of the current pants lineup most closely matches the old Strong Dungarees in material and cut?
Thanks in advance.
A long and pleated short experiment [#511] in the cleanly elevated workwear vibes of Italodrill. Forward facing Italian pleats and a 13” inseam give the short a clean and linear silhouette for easy wearing.
Hey Guys, I had a question. I got a pats of futuredarts and I love the cut of the pants, but my legs are just too long for the 29” inseam. The 36s fit nearly perfectly, with the aggressive taper and everything just fits my calf’s perfectly. What would you suggest looking into for a cut similar to the futuredarts that get closer to a 32-34” inseam, which I know is long for even the standard outlier pants. For reference I have a pair of 38L slim dungarees that are looser in the waist now but are about as perfect a fit as I can get down the leg.
