TL;DR: Great bag, on the heavy side, packs a lot of stuff, looks cool
A while back, I posted a rundown of my sling bag collection anda few people asked about the BRIEFING Day Tripper. Strangely enough, I’m currently on holiday in Central Europe and this is the bag I brought with me. So I figured it might be a good time to dig a bit deeper.
This bag falls into a weird category, somewhere between a sling and a shoulder bag. And while I’ll always lean sling-first when I can, the Day Tripper has earned its place for one simple reason: it packs an incredible amount of stuff for its moderate size.
BRIEFING’s product pages do *not* do this bag justice. You really need to hold it in your hands to appreciate the material and feel. I often feel like BRIEFING doesn’t quite grasp what people want to know about their bags (especially the compartments) so I’ll try to give you a better idea (even though my photographing skills are horrible, if you see a nice image in the gallery, the missus is …
I have been using an AER City sling 2 x pac and love it but it’s a tad too small for my carry needs at times so after searching long and hard I found the Tomtoc t35 xpac and it filled my needs very well. Its stated capacity of 3.5 litres I think is an understated. Theres more like 4 plus litres. I added a Maxpedition shoulder pad to it and it’s been amazing. What really blew me away was the price of this bag compared to others out there. I liked it so much I ordered the T26 wonderer in xpac as well for longer trips. Tomtoc is really bringing it lately.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to share my trusted setup for a week long vacation. My main bag is Osprey Daylite 13L. It fits Ryanair’s strict personal item dimensions very well and I like to keep thing minimal anyways.
All the chlotes are in the Osprey Large packing cube. - 5x shirt (long and short sleeve mix) - 3x shorts (including swimming shorts) - 4x underwear and socks I plan to do 1-2 laundries there. This minimal setup require warm weather to dry chlotes and to not take any bulky warm chlotes.
Next is med-kit/toiletries kit. - toothbrush - deodorant - shower gel - toothpaste - some other misc toiletries - basic medicine - bandaids - hand gel and disinfectant
Lowepro compact camera case - surprise there is no camera here - 2x USB-C cable - suunto charging cable - 65w charger - battery charger
Alpaka flight sling 1l is my daily EDC driver. - this time Leatherman stays in the drawer - is replaced by Canon G5XMII and spare battery - nothing earbuds - one more usb c cable - …
UK to Latvia for a stag do, the wedding, plus a couple days exploring followed by flying to Italy for 7 days before flying back to UK alongside my girlfriend. She onebagged as well using the Patagonia Mini MLC and found it great, although I have to say I prefer my bag primarily because of comfort quality.
All three flights with Ryanair. Dimensions with bag fully packed out are 54cm x 23cm x 20cm, but can be cinched down if not as packed as this.
The bag - Patagonia Terravia 28l back back. I love this bag for so many reasons: it’s super lightweight at 0.75kg; really comfortable to wear for extended periods whilst travelling; basically one big pocket so can organise things myself; flexible size means it can be cinched down to a personal item size, or maxed out to its full potential as I did this trip; included rain cover in its own pocket protects from dirty plane/train/bus floors as well as rain and as a little extra anti theft protection. Carry comfort is a priority for me, so I’m …
I saw the Nanobag mentioned in a travel group and now I’m curious. Apparently it’s this ultralight bag that folds up tiny, is crazy soft, and can carry more than I want to lift. I do carry-on-only and usually end up needing a spare tote for groceries or laundry. This seems like a smart solution, but is it durable enough for constant use? Would love to hear from anyone who’s used it while traveling.
I’m considering setting up a airplane go pouch for business trip and struggling with what I should pack and what pouch I should use. This is my initial idea of what to pack. So far I have no idea about the pouch yet cus I see most of you won’t take the laptop to the plane.
Would be interested in hearing your guys thoughts!
Hi, long time lurker, first time poster. Apologize in advance if my post is redundant.
I am curious: how many electronics do you pack for trips?I’ve noticed there aren’t many dedicated discussions in r/onebag about what tech gadgets people carry while traveling. Though I’m trying to be a minimalism,I always end up stuffing my bag full of electronics.I usually pack:
My iPhone 13 mini (I really love Apple’s small phones),
a Fuji XT30
Sony headphones (for noise isolation),
Baseus Picogo(portable power bank, great match for my phone)
an 11-inch iPad (with 1-2 movies downloaded),
and my 15-inch laptop plus mouse.
Sometimes I even consider bringing my Switch (to pass the time on planes or any journey over two hours).
My problem is: I DON’T like heavy bags. Yet if I had to remove something from my bag, I wouldn’t even know where to start. So what should I take out of my bag?
As someone in the new media industry, I sometimes need my laptop while …
Looking for ideas to consolidate my toiletries bag. It’s not egregious but the bag bulges in a way I don’t like.
The bug spray is contingent on my destination, and I suspect the pill bag could be smaller but wouldn’t offer much benefit.
The nasal spray is a necessity but I wonder if there’s a smaller squeeze bottle option?
Hit my with your ruthless efficiencies!
Always love me some XPAC. I would looveee EG to venture into Ultra or Dyneema.
People discuss the presence or lack of water bottle pockets on various Evergoods packs a lot on this forum! Having both a CPL and MPL I found myself with a foot in both pockets, as it were, but even on the MPL, a decent camelback 600ml round bottle is still quite big and cumbersome. Then I found this! A flat-ish 500ml metal bottle by memobottle in their special edition copper finish. Perfect shape for the MPL pockets, and the most perfect colour! Other sizes and colours available!
Today’s newsletter mentioned a fan-favorite color is returning. Any guesses what color + which bags/pouches?
Hi all,
As per their instagram, appears MPL30 will not be restocked - if were planning to get one, get it while you can.
