2nd on the left is the Amabilis Urban Responder (which I love dearly, its my go-to every day) and far right: the original Nomatic 40L Travel Bag.
Hey y’all! My name is Clementine, and I wanted to share this backpack that I have been working on designing for the past year. It is a 22L bag that combines roll top and clamshell access to the main compartment. The body of the bag is made from 18oz Dry waxed twill fabric, similar to what Filson uses for their “rugged twill” bags. The bottom and strap mount are made from 7oz Wickett & Craig bridle leather. I wanted to make a bag that utilizes durable materials, that will look better and better as the bag wears. In order to make as durable a bag as possible I used all metal hardware (except for the sternum buckle and cord locks).
I am manufacturing these bags by hand at my shop in Denver Colorado. I shipped out the first batch last week and so far the feedback has been good! I’m curious to hear what you all think of the bag.
I don’t understand how manufacturers calculate their bags liters?
Not all bags obviously have the same camera carrying capacity, But you think if you bought a 31L bag it would be relatively similar in size and volume to your other 32L bag.
Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to tell how the Tenba can carry substantially more compared to my Wandrd… Despite the advertising literage being basically the same.
I recently purchased the new Able Carry Max 32L Expandable backpack in Xpac from Urbancred in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Side note, incredible store, super helpful people working there, and a great selection of bags and travel related gear. If you’re ever in the area, you should make it a point to stop by.
While I was there they had the new Able Carry Cubes on display in all three colors, and after seeing them in person I decided to buy a set. For reference, I also own small and medium Peak Design compression packing cubes.
The reason I bought these Able Carry Cubes after seeing them in person is the build quality. They felt really nice in hand, and the quality of the fabric and zippers just felt super premium. I think the design is nice as well.
I’m traveling this week for work and got to put them to the test. Immediate impression was holy heck these are deep (that’s what she said). The small packing cube was able to fit 6 pairs of boxers and 4 pairs of socks. The compression feature …
I recently purchased the new Able Carry Max 32L in Xpac and have been loving it. One of my concerns buying this bag was would it fit underneath the seats on airplanes without much fuss. So far it’s been super easy with no issues.
The first picture is on an Airbus A319 and the second picture is on a Boeing 737-900. It easily fit under both seats without issue. I’m supposed to fly on an Embraer 175 on Friday and will report back, but from what I see so far I have no reason to believe I’ll have any issue on that smaller regional jet.
Just adding some data points here with real world travel. Hope this helps someone doing research.
Let’s talk about some more unique items. I’ve seen so many posts on here and YouTube that focus on the same basic essentials most of us are already familiar with. I also come across a lot of posts showing toiletry and tech bags that feel unnecessarily bulky for what they actually hold or what people need to use. But where are the posts about the niche, dialed-in items?
Personally, I’ve spent nearly a year fine-tuning my setup, and I’ve landed on a super light, compact toiletry bag that still gives me access to almost everything I use at home.
Here’s a breakdown:
Main Items: • Matador Flatpak soap case (Anihana Conditioner Bar) • Plastic bag for vitamins/pills • DRYKI microfiber cloth (great for drying face, etc.) • Basic comb • 2 fl oz contact solution + contact case • Xenosmilus pencil case (AliExpress) • Laifen aluminum toothbrush • Philips Norelco OneBlade (Model QP4530/90) • Gox small toiletry bag
A little more info on the bag I use: I originally used a Peak Design …
I have been researching for an underseat cabin bag for a few weeks and kept coming back to this sub reddit for information. The bag that kept coming up was the Osprey Daylite 26+6.
The main reasons for purchasing:
• The sheer number of reviews and recommendations for this bag on this sub reddit and youtube.
• The fact that this can be used on most airlines, the main ones I typically fly with is Ryanair and EasyJet from the UK - shoutout to the post showing it fitting in the underseat Ryanair holder.
• The price point; although more expensive than what I usually go for I found a great deal with a decent discount so ended up paying £64 (usually goes for £85 to £100 in the UK). I also got very lucky to find a black version in stock too.
• Other uses - this bag seems very comfortable to wear, I plan to use it for my daily commute and for smaller camping and hiking trips.
This is the latest and smallest version of my “fix-it” kit which fits nicely into my 20L backpack. It helps me get a few extra days out of my clothes/gear in more restrictive settings which makes me feel more secure/comfortable no matter where I end up. It’s good for when you are in a pinch and need quick solutions. I really value feeling clean and refreshed, especially on the last leg of the journey when you are tired and maybe feel a little gross from all the public transportation.

This is a custom dragonfly with slighter higher water bottle pockets but same applies to the standard one as they are still in my opinion the best on the market.
Like many people I like to use the side pockets for extra stuff and usually I can fit stuff like a light jacket, umbrella, maybe one shoe etc but somehow in the dragonfly you can fit 2 sandals size US 10 or EU 44 inside a PD shoe bag and then those sandals don’t even stick out and it looks a reasonable size too and not ridiculous. The benefits of this for me is that I don’t have to carry my sandals in the main compartment therefore keeping my clothes clean. If I was going on a budget airline I would remove the PD shoe bag and put it under my jacket so it looks less suspicious then quickly put it back in after I get past any checks.
Sandals in question not the flattest ones available either https://www.teva-eu.com/fr/fr/men-sandals/hurricane-xlt2/1019234.html?srsltid=AfmBOoqwHpuR0h8bCJkfvCDBLvOktc-udDBVOBomIGIJmddacNN30_lJ
Following WangMuncha’s excellent post about their toiletry kit, I thought that I would post mine as well.
One of the things that I have deep-dived is containers. Another is single-use foil packs. Below are some details.
Razors are either/or. If I am checking a bag, I use the dual-edge safety razor. If I am going carry-on, I use the Bic disposable razor. Shaving cream is the green cream and the shaving brush as a “Wee Scot” brush by Simpson in a repurposed glucose tab tube.
The three small pill bottles are Nalgene 1/8oz / 4ml bottles. I found these at USPlastic.com, and are the smallest leakproof bottles I have found anywhere. The laundry detergent is in a Nalgene 1/4oz / 8ml bottle, also from US Plastic. Very high-quality bottle, will never leak.
The cream containers are from MUJI and have deodorant and shaving cream. The deodorant is the same tea tree cream that I use at home (Babassu) and it works great for me (YMMV).
Nail clippers and tweezers are high quality that I …
While people did actually start replying to me before you remove the thread.. nobody ever rolled me in mega thread. There are just too many parts they’re, so it makes sense!

Here’s my everyday office bag. I was surprised that I liked the CAP0.5 the most.
I have the CAP2 setup with tools I need around the office. Flashlight, tape measure, calipers, small screwdrivers, power screwdriver, etc.
CAP1 is my grab and go to meetings. Microsoft surface mouse, laptop charger, plastic it notes, pen, and battery charger for my phone.
CAP0.5 is all things USB cables. Typical USB cables I may need and a 65w power block.
In the CPL16 I can fit my 16” surface laptop and a 15.6” portable monitor in the laptop compartment. I have a Logitech keyboard in the inside zipper compartment on the panel. A Roost laptop stand fits nicely with all the pouches in the main compartment. The front outside pocket fits pens and a few moleskin notebooks. Lastly, the compartment in the top of the bag holds reading glasses.
Overall I like the organization and aesthetic. The harness isn’t as co sortable as I expected and the X-pac makes for slippery straps. Lastly, the excess straps are …
