Does anyone else have this problem? 😂
I’m sure I’m not the only one who has too many slings and never knows at the end of the day which one I want to use. 😅 What about you?
Recently picked up the Able Carry Max EDC on the right to replace my EDC/work bag and I love it. It looks great, fits what I want and feels great on the back. Just an outstanding bag.
Been wanting something a little larger as well for little longer trips and just got the Matador Globerider 35 on the left. Haven’t used it yet but reviews have been overwhelming positive and I like the layout with suitcase opening as well as top opening and the top and side laptop access. I think going to be a very practical travel bag/onebag.
Quality wise I think the Able Carry is a class above it. Not to say the Matador doesn’t feel high quality which it is, and it may be more due to the choice of fabrics, but the Able Carry just looks flawless all around and the thicker X-pac just feels much more premium. Comfort wise for now I think Able Carry wins as well.

Aer bags are made China, so there are genuine aer bags that could cost 1⁄3 price of the original, and the price differences between a fake one and a genuine surplus one can be just $5-10.
Here are some clues to spot the latest fake one(they’re getting better) as of September 2025. Note that the fake ones quality -looks- very good. if not compared side by side against an authentic one. From the workmanship, to stitchings, to the zippers they all look decent. So it’s very unlike that anyone who doesn’t have authentic Aer bag (with the same model) could spot a fake.
The one thing I can’t travel without now it’s my noise-canceling headphones. Improved my travel quality on long flights and in noisy stations. I enjoy reading and always bring my Kindle to kill time, pairing it with headphones is even better. What’s the one thing you never travel without?
Hey everyone! I’m looking for the unicorn of travel hoodies. One that actually packs down small, has zipper pockets and is just generally comfortable and still warm
So far most of what I have tried that is marketed as “travel” are too thin and not even warm, basically like a shirt-hoodie or they don’t have zipper pockets which I really like to use when on a plane.
I wonder how people keep themselves fit or do sports when traveling extented? Traveling with only one bag means almost zero to none gear for workout. How do you do it or what advice can you give?
Can you recommend a specific app or program?
Do you run (bring primary shoes used as running shoes as well), and how do you find your way (bringing a phone bag)?
Do you bring you some sort of resistance bands or a travel workout mat?
Thanks in advance!
Hey y’all! So I’ve taken the Aero on a handful of trips since my first post (here). I was initially lukewarm but I’ve come around to really liking it. Instead of writing a novel-length review*, I thought I’d show you how I actually traveled with it, what worked for me, and what might not work for you.
A quick note on each photo:
I will travel to Edinburgh mid/end September and walk around the city and maybe head to Glasgow.
5 days in total but I arrive late on the first and leave early on the last day. Sleeping in a dorm room.

I’ve driven myself crazy online all week, so it’s time I turn to the experts.
Headed up to Columbus in about a month to see my wonderful Blue Jackets. Maybe it’ll be 80° and sunny. Maybe it’ll be in the 60s and rainy. Maybe it’ll dip into the 30s at night - their weather is a lot like mine - you never know. I have several jackets at the house, but I’m not taking several jackets with me.
I run cold, and am looking for something that’s marginally lightweight, mid-warmth, waterproof, and can easily be tied around my waist. Or stuffed in a bag. I really like jackets that are a little on the longer side, hitting around the crotch or so.
If I look at one more website my eyes will cross, so thank you in advance for your help.
Edit: holy shit - thank you all SO MUCH. You took something that was marginally overwhelming (well, to me at least) and narrowed it down to like… five. I have a top five now. You guys rock. I hope the week …
Well I’d guess this would be considered a mainstream article, as the folks at EG have gotten an article written about their flagship EDC bag the CPL24 on Esquire.com. Say what you may and some have their nitpicks about the bags/harness system but it’s a good writeup for a deserving bag.
No affiliation with either the site or the bag manufacturer but wanted to pass it along.
Not sure if this was ever confirmed but the Vanquest water bottle holder works on inside on the cpl bags. Can even grab from the side orientation.
I initially used this bad as a daily commuter bag but felt it too bulky and hot for the purposes. Also I didn’t really like the pocket and zipper layout as a work bag. After using this for its intended purposes (as a carryon) I totally get it. A travel bag isn’t just about being able to pack it out but also how you live with the bag while traveling. I use a GR2 40l for one bag travel and love it for that. When using two bags, the CTB26 is the way! Also I now understand why I paid so much for the bag - as others mentioned this is indeed a piece of luggage and not just a backpack. Totally worth the cost IMO (after using it for travel)!
The fit and finish are great, love the thickness and rigidity of the canvas. Also she’s a looker!
As per title. I’m currently holding out on getting a CAS2 as it’s in my eyes not as good as it could be.
Con’s keeping me away:
Edit: Thanks for all the helpful replies. Additional question: Does anybody carry an iPad mini? I have one with the pen and am wondering if I’d store the pen separately, if the bag will accommodate it nicely.
Saw these two XPac CTB20s on secondary and noticed a red leash on one and black on the other. Both posts claim they are new. Thoughts on why? Do they normally switch it up?
Hey everyone,
I noticed that the MPL30 v3 and the MPL22 are now made with 420d nylon 6 instead of 420d nylon 6.6.
I recently saw George Defined mention that 420d nylon 6 feels a bit flimsy and plasticky compared to 420d nylon 6.6, which supposedly has a nicer, more premium hand-feel.
For me, the way the material feels is really important, I’m coming from a CHZ in 840d, and I’ve heard that 420d nylon 6.6 is closer to that kind of touch than regular 420d nylon 6.
Can anyone who owns the new MPLs confirm how the 420d nylon 6 actually feels in hand? Is there really a noticeable difference compared to 420d nylon 6.6?
Thanks in advance for any insight!
