NOTE: The below thoughts are based on the images only, I haven’t actually touched or seen the controller in person.
It has good start & select button placement + rubber grips (on the pro)! I don’t really like the gold tension rings though, I prefer the gray of the Vader 4.
I do wonder if the pro has bluetooth xinput or trigger rumble since bluetooth xinput isn’t standard and Microsoft has the patent for impulse triggers.
The 5S looks a LOT worse than the Pro as it’s missing the two back paddles, rubber grips, charging dock compatibility, phone mount and a mode switch (looks like it might be wired ONLY, even on PC).

Potential Pricing
Vader 5 Pro - “The price is almost the same as vader 4, $79”
Vader 5S -“It’s cheaper (compared to the 5 Pro)… we wanted to make it like $39 or so… maybe a little bit higher.” …
Bought from gadget hyper, flydigi.
So basically i have made a full review previously which included:
1) Stick issue the cracking noise and feel. 2) Wobbly buttons 3) miss-aligned triggers
AND NOW look at my back button( paddle) it stopped pressing completely.
I was also kicked from their discord for mentioning all of these issues.
Side note: i did get a refund after i made a paypal dispute. I DO NOT SUGGEST THIS ITEM.

The bin store delivered today! I was needing some dedicated controllers for a PC I built. The Mini was just for fun. All for about the price of one new Ultimate 2 wireless controller.
I bought a Flydigi Vader 4 Pro a few months ago. I spent 2 months trying to figure out how to use the d-pad but I couldn’t get it to work. I concluded that it was unusable and I told anyone who asked about my frustration that all Chinese manufacturers seem to have adopted use of the same terrible d-pad module and design off-the-shelf. I packed the controller in a box, sent it to storage and forgot about it.
(Flydigi has a presentation describing the novel construction of their d-pads. Unfortunately they don’t demonstrate a user doing complex motion inputs but you should watch it before you buy any recent controller from them. Bottom line is that it’s less like a direction-pad and more like thumbstick.)
The Flydigi \“Rotational d-pad\” is a thumbstick! 🤯
The screen captures below show me consistently experiencing the Vader 4 Pro dropping inputs in Street Fighter 6.
I’ve had the Able Carry Max EDC for just over a week now and put it through a few different use cases - empty commuting to work, packed out with groceries on the way back, sports weekend with kids and dinner out with the family. In all scenarios I’ve been amazed by the comfort and quality of the backpack - I know there are other brands out there touting specific use cases too (organisation, minimalism, comfort etc.) and hopefully I’ve reached my end game bag (for now!)
Commute to/from work - on a 15ish minute walk to the train station, I would have definitely felt my back heating and no real ventilation from my Bellroy Transit (v1). It may be use case specific, or how I wear the backpack (fairly high and tighter) but I feel the AC was made with this in mind. I do notice the stiffness of the side tabs (around the bottom of where the straps connect to the back panel) but perhaps due to how I wear it (or a curved spine!) I didn’t notice this on first or subsequent …
I got the Hero Clip many years ago from REI because it’s a nifty gadget that seemed very versatile, but ultimately I found it cumbersome and ineffective for my personal needs. I’ve tried.
I was working from home on Friday though, which I never do (I’m 5days in office) and I don’t have a side runner desk at home like I do at work, so I grabbed my Hero Clip and hooked my backpack on the back of the chair next to my desk to have it propped up next to me.
Fast forward to today, the Hero Clip is still attached to my backpack, so I hooked the empty -ish bag on the cubicle divider at the office.
The Toshi only stands up unsupported 1/10th of the time, but look at it now! HA!
Not a long term solution and I wouldn’t hang it there with any “real” weight, but I looked at this setup just now and thought 🤔 maybe this clip isn’t completely useless.
Just the go pack 2 and go tote 2 for now. With some pouch coming next week. Great for non-US/UK buyers. Hope they keep adding more products. I always hear the Canadians complaining about the import and shipping costs for anything Aer.
I’ve been reading this sub and I’m fascinated. But I just cannot fathom packing for a trip - even one that’s just a week long - without taking enough underwear that would allow me to poop my pants twice a day.
How do you pack for a trip in a warm climate where you know you’ll sweat a ton every day? Or somewhere cold where you’ll want layers to make sure you can stay warm and comfortable?
Do you all do laundry on these trips? Is it in the hotel sink? Or at a laundromat?
I’d love to do it, but I don’t think I’m brave enough.
I just want to say a massive thank you to this subreddit. The community here has changed the way I travel and has changed the way that I think about my material “needs”.
For context, I just completed my first ever solo backpacking trip around South East Asia and Europe for 6 months. All with of course… one bag. I have never done anything like this before, and I jumped in head first. My favorite thing to constantly hear from people who I met on my travels was “You’re traveling 6 months with only that 1 backpack??“ You’re damn right I was, and I was proud of it. Shoutout to my Osprey Farpoint 40L: https://imgur.com/a/WrvHSwv
Here’s my favorite tips that I learned from this amazing community:
About a month ago I booked a spontaneous solo hiking trip to Switzerland. Since it’s basically 4 full days and 2 flights, I figured it’d be easier to bring one bigger backpack instead of juggling a small bag + carry-on. That led me to this sub… and it entirely changed the way I think about packing, travel, and making the most out of these trips.
I’ll be spending a few nights in the Jungfrau region, so a good chunk of the heavy stuff is mountain-top weather (layers, insulating pieces, rain shell, etc.) since it appears it’s gonna be around 20 degrees F. Did a couple test runs with the Osprey Farpoint 40 and holy hell, I didn’t think a pack that size could feel this comfortable, just hoping my back will hold up for 10 hours…
Funny side note: I lost ~30 lbs this year, and the whole pack fully loaded comes in around 20 lbs. Realizing I used to be carrying more than that on my body every day was kinda mind-blowing.
Seriously thank you to this community, I decided to pull the trigger and …
Okay so I’ve onebagged for weekends away and I hike which uses a single bag. But nothing like this. This was seven weeks in early summer in Scotland, England,Switzerland, Sweden and a few stopovers and an overnight hike!
I had the unique experience of being able to send stuff home halfway through my trip because I change travelling companions. So I was able to trial and perfect my bag.
My bag: Cotopaxi allpa 35L. Only thing I didn’t like it was there wasn’t a safe Pocket to put valuables. My bag had to be under 8 kilos or something to meet the requirements of a domestic connection. It wasn’t weighed by any of the airlines.
What I sent home: * Second pair of shoes * Art supplies * Kindle (just used the app) * Handbag. I just used the totebag.
What I wish I’d packed * Shirts I like! If you don’t like/wear them at home… You’re not going to magically like them on holidays. * Knee braces. I did a lot of hiking and it would have been worth …
Hey everyone,
I just picked up the Fjällräven Färden Carry-On Pack (42 L) and wanted to share some photos + first impressions. I’ll be taking it on my first OneBag trip soon — by train to Munich from another EU country, and I’m pretty excited to see how it performs in real travel conditions.
So far, here’s what stands out:
Build quality feels excellent. The fabric is solid and durable, and the zippers are sturdy enough for a pack this size.
Comfort is really good. Even when loaded up a bit, the harness feels supportive and the back panel sits nicely.
Compartments & organization are impressive. There are a lot of pockets, but they feel purposeful rather than overdone. Everything seems well thought-through for packing efficiency.
Any pro tips for packing efficiently for train + city travel in Europe?
Cheers
Hello!
Firstly, I would like to sincerely thank everyone for how in depth and thoughtful you all are with your posts and comments. I lurked here for weeks before deciding which travel backpack to get. I noticed significantly fewer reddit user reviews of this bag on here, so I figured I’d write one!
After a lot of himming and hahing, I ended up going with the Bellroy Lite 30. I’m a Canadian gal, so there were some limitations of supply and higher prices that factored in (I ordered it from a local store in Toronto who shipped it fast, and were awesome, and had a slightly cheaper price).
Here are my thoughts:
I could not believe how smooth the aqua guard zippers were right out the box. First thing I also did was take the frame sheet out that helped make it so much more comfortable.
Orange Kludde Patch I created looks great on blue flame CFP
For those of you that got the Civic Flat Pouch - what do you plan to use it for?
