I’ve had the 8bitdo SN30 Pro for years, but this year I started the collection.
I was back home in Brazil on vacation (i live in Spain) and my sister showed me her old NES that we used to play when we were kids. She had a spare controller, so in that moment I knew I needed to get it to use again! So I bought a kit from 8bitdo and got it working (I play emulators, not real vintage consoles, so I need bluetooth or wireless). Then I bought a used SNES controller (this is THE console from my childhood, the purple one) and did the same with it. That was a point of no return, so now those are the ones I have now.
The blue Mega Drive one is from Retro-bit. Then there’s the ones from Nintendo Switch Online and the 8bitdo Pro 3 and Neo Geo. I also got two on the way from the Japanese NSO (Super Famicom and Mega Drive). I want to get the SNES NSO one from the US, but the prices on eBay are just crazy!
I used to play retro games before, but now that I made the point of playing each …
Christmas is coming next week and I’m thinking of getting a new controller with the Christmas money given to me. Currently torn between the 8Bitdo Ultimate 2C and the Gamesir Nova Lite 2. Which should I get?
The games I’m thinking of playing with this would be Platformers and Action Games, and even some fighting games if I’m out the house.
And bonus question, I’m also buying some thumb grips for it so that it might last longer even for a bit, what first party controllers have the same dimensions as the sticks on these controllers?
I’m right-handed and right-footed. As a “goofy” stance, cognitively well-suited for board sports and martial arts. But it has one drawback that really annoys me: To this day, no one has thought of building a goofy controller.
Because even when I’m playing games, I mentally stand with my thumb and foot forward on my right side.
That feels just as right to me as it feels wrong to someone who stands normally.
Controller from 1999 attempting to ‘merge the gamepad with the keyboard and mouse’ Grabbed it off of eBay for 20 use, shipped for free. CD case is mine. It has triggers but no bumpers, and you swivel around the right side on its 2 axes (not a trackball!) To look around. Weirdly enough, has a shift button.
I was a fan of Apex 4. Been using it for over a year and it’s been solid.
So when Apex 5 was announced, I knew I had to get it. I bought from GadgetHyper in June and arrived in end of September, so it’s in my hand for less than 2 months.
Honestly I haven’t been using it much. I saw on Bilibili (bascially Chinese youtube) where people complained the QC is really bad for the EVA Apex 5, I have no idea how bad is it. Apex 4 is solid, so how bad can it be for Apex 5?
I’ve barely put 20 hours into using this thing. This morning when I’m playing COD BO7 I noticed one of my back button which I registered to Sprint no longer works. I had to stop the game, and looked closer. It’s indeed broken.
I’ve made a youtube video to show how it’s broken, hopefully later it might be useful for others as well. I’m contacting GadgetHyper to see what are my options. Hopefully they can help here. It was my first order on their website, so didn’t …
Posting due to an earlier request and I couldn’t add pics to my other thread.
Top row: Toshi, Aer CP1, Bellroy Workpack V1
Bottom: Aer CPP1, Aer Pro Pack 20L, Evergood PLC 20
You can see I’m quite obsessed 😀. I got my first Bellroy sling just 18 months back, but my collection really grew since then. Let’s say a few words about each one of them. Since the fabric depends on the color we choose, the experience can greatly vary even between the same line. For example, I own most colors released under the Venture line (I also own 3 Venture Pouches, not included here) and I can tell you that each one of them feels different.
So, let’s go:
Recently picked up the CTR in Ultra200x in Vietnam and the Evergoods CAS2 “Kludde” in Japan and these two served me well on my trip..
It rained a bit in Tokyo when I was there and I had no issues with the packs.
The CTR is spacious and has a luggage pass through which was a major plus, also the S strap was perfect for my frame. Paid 240 USD for it.
The CAS2 is as much a treat as the regular one was, the new magnetic buckle is a good addition and the blue interiors is a looker for sure. The price is debatable but in the end of the day we didn’t get into this hobby cos we were frugal with our money. Paid 170 USD for it.
I was looking to pick up a few bags in Japan but these two did everything I needed so I didn’t shop (regret not picking up that one Porter bag, maybe next time)

I’ve been loving my two new Toshi slings (I added the V2 2.5L and 6L to my V1 5L) and have been adding a pop of color with 550 paracord zipper pulls. It’s my first attempt, but I’m happy with the results!
I love having loops on the main pocket for easy pull. I did a long zipper pull for my favorite Quick Access Pocket, which I’m in most throughout the day. And the back passport pocket got a small knot with color as well.
The original hypalon pull remains on the front pocket that is hidden underneath the flap. I am intentionally rarely in that pocket, and I like how I can tuck the hypalon pull underneath when not being used.
The paracord is from Amazon. I searched high and low for this color, but I’m absolutely in love! I cinch things down with 1⁄4” adhesive shrink tube material, also from Amazon. The heat activates the adhesive as it shrinks and then dries to hold everything tight. It’s been fun to experiment with what works best for …
Just landed last night after a 6 days (5 nights) trip to Austria with my mom. This was my first time truly onebagging, and now i’ll go over it all in ridiculous detail.
Me (28f) and my mom spent 3 days in vienna before heading to the viennese alps to catch some snow and explore some nature. My one rule of onebagging was: as long as it makes things easier, not harder. The second i would start feeling like i was compromising, the second it was more trouble than it was saving me, i would give up and use another bag. Spoilers: that did not happen.
My bag: the one and only osprey daylite 26+6 in blue. What can i say that hasn’t been said already? I love this beast. Took everything i threw on it and more. Didn’t need to extend once. Last day i had to carry it around full after we checked out of the hotel, and while it wasn’t fun it was still very manageable, as long as i took some breaks from time to time.
Clothing:
2 pairs of pants - jeans (worn on the plane and for most of the trip) …
I’m Europe-based, purchased this on the Cotopaxi website directly in October 2022. The front material started to peel or crack a few months ago for no particular reason as I did not travel much in the last year.
Tried to reach out/make a claim and you guessed it: not eligible. Safe to say it is the very last time I want to have anything to do with this brand.
I usually take a good care of my stuff as I tend to have only a few things. While still usable, it frankly looks rank/disgusting on top of being annoying as now that the material is chipped, it tends to leave small flakes everywhere I go, so yeah.
Not the first one complaining about this, although info on this particular issue is difficult to find on Google and pictures even more and I guess my fault I missed the few posts that might have been available back then.
This is not a hater post.
Figured if I could save someone from doing the same mistake and trust the do-gooder marketing lingo, it would be useful.
Bit of background: I’ve been onebagging for 6 years without realising it was a ‘thing’ until I discovered this sub recently (best sub on reddit btw!) I’m UK based and travel every month to Germany usually for 3 weeks at a time (living with my boyfriend). Ryanair are my heroes but after having a few near misses with my too-big Tropicfeel Shell and realising that 8-9kg was a bit excessive for someone weighing 52kg, plus being hugely inspired by you lot, I decided to downsize.

I’m going to Korea this month, and for the first time, I’ll be traveling with just carry-on luggage.
I bought a used Osprey Fairview 40 and cut out a laptop sleeve. I hand-sewed the edges of the fabric and it turned out pretty nicely.
Since I won’t be bringing a laptop, I’m happy with the neat storage space.
I also threaded thick thread through the ends of the compression straps to tie them together so they wouldn’t dangle.
(I’m not a native English speaker,so I’m using google translate.
I see a lot of love for the matador soap bag on this sub. I can’t see one in person where I live and the advertisements all show beads of water on the outside of this bag. I understand that it helps bar soap dry but does it get wet on the outside and make everything else in your bag wet?
I tend to move locations every few days and need to use bar soap due to allergies, so something that helps my soap to dry out would be great. But I don’t want to buy this and then need to pack it inside something waterproof to protect the other things in my bag.
EDIT: I have put a photo in the comments of the sisal bag I am currently using inside a small dry bag.
I just came back from a short winter trip and tried something new for my one bag setup. I usually travel with an Aer Travel Pack 2 and the temperature during this trip ran from about 22°F in the morning to around 45°F in the afternoon. Normally I would pack a fleece and a mid layer to cover that range.
This time I brought a venustas heated vest to see if it could replace some bulk. It folds flat and fits in the laptop sleeve without touching the main compartment. In the cold I kept it on low and it felt like wearing a thicker mid layer. When it warmed up I turned it off and it worked like a thin vest.
The best part was dropping an entire layer from my packing list. I only carried a merino base layer, the vest and a light windbreaker. For anyone who travels through mixed winter climates, what pieces help you stretch your temperature range without adding more clothing
Maybe too early to tell; but I am kind of enjoying this little guy, yes I fell for the magnets (was attracted to it, ok I’ll stop) and so far it’s living up to what it promises - a compact wallet with just the right amount of slots (for me), could I have or do I have something better in my rotation - yes, did I spend my 65 bucks wisely - maybe, I have 3 cards in total, with a Eufy tracker in the “cargo hold”.
So far no complains. I have strong opinions regarding Evergoods and their current direction but like politics I keep my opinions in the DM’s.

After posting my wooden patches on my CTB20 X-Pac a few days ago, it was mentioned that the organic look of the wood might pair better with the texture of waxed canvas. I made some new ones and threw them on my Griffin gear. The wood on wax aesthetic feels much more intentional. I used Sapele, Quarter Sawn White Oak, Black Walnut, Teak and Ipe. Really appreciate the feedback from you guys. What do you think?
CTB26 here with the Alpaka bags
Tl;dr: the most comfortable bag I ever had.
I have different famous brand bag:
Aer CPP2 24L
Able Carry Max EDC 26L
Alpaka Metro Backpack 12L
Alpaka Metro Backpack 24L
Evergoods CTB26
But the CPL 16 fits me like a charm. Don’t get me wrong, i do love all of my bags and I found for them a different use case (CTB 26 is the bag I wear less, too much big and digs a bit).
The most awesome thing it’s the horizontal access all over the bag, this thing gives me nuts.
The bag doesn’t stand vertically, but ironically it DOES STAND horizontally, even is empty. This thing made me chuckle, I admit.
Other things I wanna talk about it’s the Nintendo Switch 2 fitting and the Macbook Pro 14 with its sleeve:
- The bag looks like a Nintendo Switch 2 bag. The console fits inside like it was made for that. A bigger Steam Deck doesn’t fit in the same way, I presume
- I did not expect that and I was so happy about it: my MacBook Pro 14 fits …
Unless I’m blind I don’t see it anywhere on their website, even listed as out of stock.
