It has the same core, but feels modernised.

Tldr: I really like it. I hope people give it a chance. PVE mode is really nice. Almost no monetisation, earned unlocks. Series are always great co-op games with your best bro and has a surprising amount of heart. Gameplay is solid. Don’t give up if the first games online are tough. Hope this post convinces some more people to try it.

I like the direction it is heading and hope lots of people give it a proper chance. Not to mention they are going down the route of almost everything being unlockable through normal gameplay. It’s so refreshing to see this in a modern multiplayer game and I hope more people join the grind. The fun thing with Gears is that you are always making progress, even if you aren’t the best player. It may take a little longer, but we all get there in the end. Based on the beta, it seems that progress counts in PVE and PVP for lots of stuff too.
