Greetings! I’m the solo developer of Splintered, an 8-Bit styled RPG that’s one part love letter to Dragon Quest 1 and one part “Ever-Evolving Randomizer”.

I grew up playing Dragon Quest 1 (or rather, Dragon Warrior) and it’s one of my favorite childhood games. I always felt that Dragon Quest 1 (and the simplicity of 1v1 style combat) was quickly moved on from, and this project tries to recapture and reimagine that essence.

Of course, I also wanted to put my own spin on things. I’ve added a bunch of modernized accessibility, combat features (such as equipment abilities and talents that encourage multiple playstyles), and other various twists into the mix.

The biggest twist is by far is the “ever-evolving randomizer”. Chapter 1 starts out as a standard 8-bit styled RPG, but things take a quick turn in Chapter 2 when the villain randomizes the world!

I’m certainly late in this discussion but, as I only found out today, others may not know yet: there is an open source alternative to discord in development and it’s called Revolt (god I love the irony of its name).

It is not the first time that Discord has appeared in the news seeking to open itself to financial capital or simply be acquired by a third party. When this happens (and I don’t believe it’s a case of “if”) the enshittification process will speed up even more.

Knowing that there is an open source alternative gives me hope that our communication will remain relatively private and ad-free.

Anyway, all this to say to those doomers like me that there is hope!

You’re laning against Axe, who is smart enough to hold his Battle Hunger spell so he always uses it on the support.

You’re obviously not gonna let your support get a last hit, every creep belongs to you.

But then when the support tries to get a deny so he can get the Battle Hunger debuff off, you don’t even let him do that and deny the creep yourself.

Hey guys! Deathy here. I’m hosting a community tournament called *Deathy’s Death Slam.* The goal of this tournament is to group individuals into teams of average skill level (oracle was the average for this tournament), and to give them assistance and structure from a pro player (myself) to help them flourish and learn about the game.

The tournament’s first day, which is a 3-round swiss-style bracket, begins today at 2pm EST. It will be broadcasted live on my twitch.

I’m making this post because another reddit post was made containing a banner for the tournament and a lot of people said they had not heard of it. Hopefully this helps spread the word!

Is awesome his kit is just dopamine after dopamine. Knife landed? Monkey loves. Dash landed? Monkey loves. Ult kill? Monkey really loves.

I mean this game is bloody phenomenal; once new characters come out and progression system is put into place this game is going to do numbers.

Devs y’all are doing amazing work; albeit slow now but I’m sure it’s worth it in the end!
