Have you guys noticed the AI generated crap filling up the various gaming marketplaces? The games themselves, the descriptions of the games (it’s not just a game- it’s an adventure! The chain sword isn’t just a weapon- it’s a rite of passage). This timeline is fucking bleak and it’s going to really diminish our ability to parse through the offerings and find good stuff.
I don’t even know what can be done about it but man do I hate it.
I was bored last night and looking through public court dockets in California and it turns out Obsidian Entertainment is currently getting hit with a class action and PAGA representative lawsuit in Orange County for wage theft, unpaid overtime, and denying meal/rest breaks to non-exempt employees (read: QA testers, the people who actually try to make sure your RPG isn’t a broken mess at launch).
You can check it out on the OC superior court website but there’s a court paywall, case info here, images here:
EDIT: you can read the pdf of the filing and Obsidian (and Fisher Phillips) legal response here.
Case Number: 30-2025-01518049-CU-OE-CXC
Case Name: Victoria Turner v. Obsidian Entertainment, Inc.
Amended Complaint Filed: January 12, 2026
Apparently, Obsidian hired Fisher & Phillips to fight it. If you don’t know who they are- they are a massive corporate defense firm that exclusively handles management-side risk. Their entire business model is built around …
Was going through my collection and found this piece of my youth. I bought this at 16 after 2 months of saving up.
