Hey everyone! I’m Ken, the solo dev behind BattleGroupVR. I built the original because I wanted a space RTS where you command a fleet from the bridge of your own flagship—not from some distant overhead view. Thanks to your amazing support, that vision came to life.

Hey friends! We’re a small indie team, and for quite a few months now (okay, fine — over a year), we’ve been building our crazy little game, Union of Gnomes. It’s a deckbuilding roguelike set in a weird, funny, and slightly dark fairy-tale world where cute gnomes are leading a full-on revolution against Snow White and her magical dictatorship.

So, what’s this all about?

They launched a Kickstarter campaign to collect funds for their first game. Made a demo, launched Early Access. Eventually launched it into full release.

Turns out that behind the scenes it was what can be described as a corporate-fueled money making machine with shareholders, management board, supervisory board, financial audits, quarterly earning reports and annual shareholders meetings. A friend from league wants to learn dota so we have played a few bot matches, each time increasing their difficulty. However, the bots are beyond broken at the moment. Some heroes don’t even learn their skills, don’t buy items, and so forth. It’s almost impossible to die against “insane” difficulty bots because they don’t even level their skills.

Not a good first impression for people trying dota

Some of you guys get way too butt hurt about things that were never set and stone and always subject to change.
