So recently I’ve been following a few different games facing backlash due to patent or copyright claims. The two big ones right now are Palworld the “Pokemon ripoff” and Ebola the Resident Evil clone.

As someone who’s played Pokemon since the beginning, I gotta say Palworld is everything I’ve ever wanted in a pokemon esk game. It took the core idea and actually improved on it with better mechanics, more freedom, and way more engaging gameplay. But now Nintendo’s throwing lawsuits around, forcing Palworld to change key features just because they’ve patented basic gameplay elements. How is that fair?

Then there’s Ebola, which is so obviously inspired by Resident Evil that it’s almost funny. But guess what? It’s actually a solid game. Capcom hasn’t gone after them (yet), but if they do, it’ll just be another case of big companies stifling competition instead of, you know, just making better games.

I’ve been digging into various clues, and after some thorough research and putting some pieces together, I believe that Valve is quietly preparing a huge hero remodel update for the future, which might be for most (if not all) base hero models at once (except maybe for the hero remodels from the recent years.)

For start, we haven’t had a major hero remodel in around what, 4 - 5 years? Although kind of rare, these did come to heroes from time to time and the time between them was definitely not as long as the last remodel we’ve had (such as Huskar, Drow and smaller ones like Tiny; which was more of a retexture anyway)

Around 2019–2020, it seems that Valve has almost completely stopped with the base hero remodels and have released “base remodels” for arcanas only. Although some of you may argue that they’re now releasing the remodels in the form of arcanas which you pay for, I don’t believe that’s really the case, hence …

Between work and casting jobs like CCT I cover dota events on my own channel where i use my own voice and camera work through dotatv as valve have stated is acceptable for community casters, I decided to do some coverage of the fissure play ins going on at the minute and set up my channel to cast them, toward the end of the OG/Edge series my channel got shut down and twitch notified my that I had a copyright strike against my channel from “FISURA LLC” and gave me the fissure email to contact them about the DMCA, funnily enough the email doesnt go anywhere and there was no attempt to reach out and correct the situation as stated in the valve Dotatv guidelines page.

I’m not expecting anything from this post but I think things like this should always be brought to light and it’s not the first time Fissure have issued false DMCAs.

I just finished a match where we spotted brood in our base ratting. When in game the damage did not show, you need to have the hero targeted before he does it for the bonus damage to show, figured this out in the replay. We were very confused about how he killed a tower through backdoor, but knew there had to be something fishy.

He uses his Q, then refreshes, buys shard and then uses Q again. The damage keeps ramping up throughout the pause, so they just chained a few pauses and then he hit our base with +15k dmg or something like that.

PS: Used the dota in game clip tool, which i guess doesn’t go higher than 18 seconds.

A bug that allows you to transfer money between players in a team:

➖ Buy Healing Salve/Mango for the recipient hero

➖ Dig out Healing Salve/Mango with Trusty Shovel

➖ Recipient clicks “Put up for sale” on Flask or Mango.

➖ The sending hero buys Healing Salve/Mango and quickly passes it to the recipient.

➖ Recipient hero goes to the fountain - the consumables are automatically sold and recipient gets gold
