For the last 18 months I’ve been developing a programming game where you use real Python code to automate all kinds of machinery in different environments. It is inspired by Zachtronics’ games, While True Learn, Human Resource Machine, Robot Arena and a little Factorio / Mindustry but in realistic 3D environments with simulated physics.
The game is still a WIP (solo-developer doing this in my spare time), but I recently put the Steam page and a teaser trailer online. Please let me know what you think:

The main mechanical twist is that not all guns work on all enemies, e.g. only the sewing machine gun can tailor a loose suit. The mechanic makes you switch weapons more often and think about which fashion criminals to prioritize!

We are a couple working on Slaves of Magic, a fantasy isometric 2D turn-based Xcom-like strategy game. The basic premise is that invaders came to the continent where the humans live from another dimension and they brought magic with them. The player will have to build up and lead the resistance forces against these invaders while trying to learn more about their magic.
Those familiar with the Xcom games will find the premise and the core game loop familiar. The game has 2 layers, a tactical layer where you control your team of 6-8 person on a mission, and a campaign layer where you will manage the resistance assets, troops, research new equipment, etc.
The way we want to stand out from the crowd (besides the fantasy setting) is our commitment to replayability in all aspects of the game. Hello! I’m a solodev working part-time on my dream game, “Underfoot Queens”. At its core Underfoot Queens is a 4x with mechanics that are heavily inspired by nature and real insect behaviour, hence the simulation part.

The game has a traditional 4x loop where you explore, expand, exploit resources and exterminate other insects. You progress by breeding every couple of years to get new dna, your genes will limit your current abilities and traits.
You will be facing starvation, diseases and other threats. Losing your game means permadeath, which means starting from scratch, but even if that happens you will still retain some progress.
New species will be unlocked as you play, giving you the opportunity to have fresh starts in different biomes under different gameplay styles.

I want to introduce you to my game that I have been working on for the last 3 years.
What’s the game about
It’s a sci-fi, space themed base-building game with a focus on realistic time simulation. You play an AI overseer, responsible for a generation ship to save mankind.
Construction
One of the largest parts of this game is the construction of the generation ship. You will find, order, and manufacture materials to slowly build the ship up to a sprawling colony according to your needs and goals. You first build the core foundation of the ship with walkways, windows, and doors. As you are doing that, you can tack on a plethora of rooms and machines. There are solar panels, storage rooms, combustion generators, mess halls, quarters, manufactorums, air filtration rooms, and more! You are free to build any shape or size of ship you want, and the game is being optimized to handle very large ships that do not limit your creative freedom at all!

I used to play multiplayer FPS games a TON when I was younger and was pretty decent at them, starting from the original CS and Battlefield. I’m 35 years old now and decided to try and get back in competitive FPS with the new MW2.
Even after putting in 25 hours into the game I’m absolutely horrible. Seems like my reflexes got drastically slower with age .
I’ll be lucky to get more than 1 kill in a match. It feels like everyone else has crazy fast twitchy reaction speeds, by the time I see someone, I’m dead.

My old i7 3770 and 1600mhz DDR3 16gb ram and RX580 can play God of War 2018 and Uncharted 4 above 60fps at high settings and it doesn’t look bad upscaling from 720p to 1080p. Really useful for folks with older rigs.
