tl;dr: We’re blacking out on June 12th for at least 48 hours. Read on for more info.
Good morning /r/pcgaming,
A few days ago we posted a notice regarding the upcoming API changes. In that post, we asked for the community’s support to blackout following an open letter that was posted rallying subreddit’s mod teams to support opposition of the change.
Since that notice, not only did we receive overwhelming support in favor of blacking out, things have also escalated, and Reddit has largely just doubled down on the changes. Third party apps continue to be vilified by Reddit staff.
Long story short: Reddit hasn’t addressed the main concerns we’ve brought before them. As such, we’ve decided to continue on with the planned 48 hour blackout on June 12th alongside the 3000+ subreddits already participating.

Honestly, prior to Diablo IV release, I’d never thought there are so many people who are pro level-scaling.
Some implementations of level scaling I hate with every bit of my soul since the Oblivion times, and I don’t understand why people defend it so furiously.

Being able to outlevel an area is the content itself. Mob that could one-shot you without taking a single scratch before, is not even an issue anymore. The realization that you were able to overcome some challenging enemies and they won’t ever bother you anymore, is the content. You complete it and move forward.
