I want to introduce you to Raiding.Zone.
Raiding.Zone is a Voxel PvE arena game inspired by World of Warcraft. The gameplay revolves around the roles of Tank, Healer, and Damage Dealer.
Game design
Raiding.Zone doesn’t have “classes”. Instead, your equipment determines your abilities and your role in the raid. The weapon provides your primary spells and sets your role. Your armor, trinket, and boots will grant you a defensive, utility, and move spell each.
While using your weapon, you gain experience. This experience unlocks different talents on each weapon. You can choose one talent at each level.
You can further customize your items by mounting essences. Essences grant raw stats to your item. They will also augment your abilities on certain essence combinations.

Heroes of Might and Magic 3 was my beloved childhood game but it always feels a little repetitive. When I finally became capable of making my own games I decided to fix that problem.
I added a card system to this formula. Cards are responsible for the strategic level of the game. Changing deck player could change how he plays. For example, replace dwellings cards with cards giving a player additional skills or spells. Because of that I could add a little randomness to every run and give a player a possibility to create new interesting strategies.

I apologize in advance if I’m rambling but I’m absolutely excited to share the news with everyone! My two friends and I made a game. It’s a cyberpunk retro shooter. It’s like if Doom had a baby with Deus Ex.
My game is called Beyond Sunset and it’s now out in Early Access on Steam. It’s made in the original GZDoom engine that we tweaked to add some features that would be impossible several years ago. We did it, and we’re beyond proud!
Why GZDoom tho? The answer to that question is rather easy – the three of us come from the community of Doom modders. We played Doom, we got into the engine and started making mods for it! So when we dreamt up a game of our own, making it in the engine we already knew like the back of our hands was the obvious choice. Knowing what I know now, would I make the game in a different engine? Totally. Was it still the best choice at the time? Yes, it was.

The Game Awards winners are selected by vote, but a jury of 100+ games media outlets has 90% of the voting power. Only 10% is from the public vote.In oher words, the public vote might only matter in a tie breaker. Or not at all if the jury is unanimous.
The jury is made up of an honestly fairly surprising selection of media outlets. Not just games media from the anglosphere, but from Denmark, Argentina, China, Brazil, etc. as well. Full list of jury: https://thegameawards.com/voting-jury
There are several different reasons for why, and there are arguments for and against this. (I will leave my personal opinion on this out of the post) One of the argument for it is that if it was public vote, people who have not played all nominees can still vote, and the winner will likely just be the game the most people have played. Though BOTW did win in the past despite being a Nintendo exclusive.

Recently got to Phantom Liberty’s end and was blown away by those last few sequences before the credits.
Everything suddenly made sense after being confused for most of my playtime.
