So that’s insane how big it is. That’s basically as many people playing Fortnite as there is playing games on steam.
And that’s concurrent, not unique players. 2.3 mill concurrent is insane.
What are your thoughts on Fortnite’s transition from a game to more a game engine?
*PUBG is weird because on Opencritic it has reviews from 2017 through 2022 which doesn’t reflect its score at the time of the award nomination. On Metacritic it has an 86 and 85 for PC and Xbox One but the PS4 version with a 72 didn’t come out until the very end of 2018 a year later. So I went with an 86 for the average since on Metacritic the PC version has 52 reviews compared to 17 for the One.

It’s a simple question, but I think it has a very complex answer, and importantly is one that gamers have lost all objectivity in answering.
Funnily enough this started as I booted up the new Avatar game. Reviews are rife with “Far Cry Blue”, or “the tired Ubisoft formula” and I found myself primed to be disappointed, but instead was very pleasantly surprised. I wondered if half the reviewers had even played the game or instead rushed to jump onto a bandwagon of Ubisoft bashing.
To compare against another open world game from this year, what makes Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom a 10⁄10 while Avatar is 5-7⁄10 depending on the reviewer? Zelda’s story is forgettable and the dialogue is laughable (“secret stones”). No idea what it is but I’ve played fps games for over 15 years now and over the past 5 there’s been a decline in how often I actually play. One of my favorite fps games has to be apex legends and I played it for a couple hours a day every day when it first released and I was an alright player.
Fast forward to today as stated above my playtime for any game has decreased drastically over the years . I went from playing every day to maybe playing once a month maybe even less. I just played a game the other night and could not grasp it. My awareness in game is non existent now 😂. I’ve pretty much decided to stick with Coop or single player experiences from now on. Anyone else experience this lol
