Hello everyone, It’s with a heavy heart and deep sadness we must inform you that the scenario writer and head of Rabbit & Bear Studios, Yoshitaka Murayama, has passed away on February 6th due to complications with an ongoing illness.
Murayama first began this journey of the creation of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes in 2020 through the support of his very loving fans on Kickstarter. Throughout the three-plus-year-development of the game, it was always the passion from his fans that continued to drive his creative vision and motivate him to put his all into the project.
His hard work on Eiyuden Chronicle as scenario writer was finished but as his co-workers and friends, it saddens us to know that he won’t get to see the reactions from his fans.
However, even with those feelings we need to accept the reality that he is no longer with us and continue to push his dream forward by releasing Eiyuden Chronicle to the world.

Helldivers is an ok game at best that doesn’t even have single-player, yet it has better Steam sales than any previous Sony port because it actually came out day 1 rather than in the shape of hand me downs 2-4+ years after the initial console launch.
Most of the previous ports range from high 8s to 9s and are amazing games, but they barely get any sales compared to AAA Steam launches. They sell like 20 mil copies on PlayStation, and then 1 million on PC because Sony is still treating PC like a random side project. Why is there still no Bloodborne, Demon Souls, Ghost of Tsushima, or smaller ones like Shadow of Colossus, Last Guardian, and all the other games that are over 6 years old with no word on an eventual port?
I know they want to keep the timed exclusivity to justify the console’s existence, but porting games so late and so randomly doesn’t make sense to me just like how never porting games to PC prior to HZD made no sense to me back then. These ports come out …
I just wanted to see some context as if I recall this sub was immensely hard on this game and said it was dead 1 month after it launched. Its a successful live service game with Ubisoft saying they wanted to support it for 10 years.
After a long journey through post WWI Russia, I’ve finished The Last Train Home. I looked over my crew roster at the fallen and remembered where each of them had died and why they had to be left there. I remembered mad dashes out of enemy territory pursued by tanks which I no longer had the supplies or man power to fight. I remembered fleeing hordes of the enemy only to find one last bastion of enemy defense between my squad and their escape. I remembered crippling disease and knowing that I couldn’t get my crew home if I had to expend my scant resources on the helplessly injured.
In The Last Train Home, Ashborne Games told a beautiful and painful story of a history and a landscape entirely foreign to me and I am grateful to have experienced it. I can only hope more developers will put forth such polished and deep storylines with memorable characters that the player grows to care about.
