But anyway, pretty excited about this! As a big fan of mecha in general, its great to see a return to this setting. For those who don’t know, the mechs or Gears are a lot closer to Votoms style mecha than Gundam or Mechwarrior, and the setting is on an arid world called Terra Nova that gives off heavy space western vibes.
There is a development Discord (but not sure I can post a link here due to the sub rules) and they’ve answered a few questions so far. Engine used will be UE5, and the game will more sandbox than previous entries which were mission to mission shooters. Also big focus on speed and even on vehicles other than the Gears.

Got clowned on super hard on Wyk’s FB page way back 2020 for being stuck in archon whenn I posted my then girlfriend’s gift.
That literally sucked the fun out of me. So I decided to quit this toxic game.
So from 2020 to 2024, i got married, did all the grown up shit, and had a kid. Figured there was still something missing so I went back to DOTA again.
A year of pure pos5 grinding and finally reached immortal.
On top of work, life, and fam responsibilities, it was super grueling but definitely worth it! Figured the mental maturity helped a ton as I was still the 30+ year old noob gamer. Only difference was I refuse to ruin my day over dota.
if your carry is 2-7-3 with buyback on cooldown then they probably locked the fuck in. they breaking smokes that would gank you instead, they midasing deep camps that you take for granted and they’re the one that get croaker ravaged and ogre smashed for it. they have 0 survivability because all their gold is used on damage, farming items and buyback, they get caught farming a wave alone so you can get a triple kill and “?” the opponent team, they doing so much work with a hand of midas a radiance and a manta style so YOUR name can show up as an honourable mention on the MVP screen.

His scarf and rope seems to be no longer present in his new portrait.
If this is the case, we can assume that his anchor( which is one of the biggest indicator for his sailor/stevedore motif) will be gone as well.
Seems like Valve is opting to double down on his strongman / pugilist motif and removing the latter.
It’s a shame because his ult(Death Slam)’s SFX sounded both like a boxing bell and a ship horn; blending the character’s visual identity and thematic design together perfectly.
Pretty much title, since now only 3 members get rejuv buff, you have people arguing that you stole their buff, not going to mid fight since they don`t get anything out it, leaving the game AFK because its their buff and they are the 3⁄9 carry.
Removes the big rejuv steals that were nice to see and, most of the time, game changing. All in all, its not a good change for the toxicity of the game.
I also think that minion buff should stay, as long as there is a hero nearby. I didn`t like it before neither since it was a bit busted/op. But, rejuv is meant to be a pushing incentive. All in all , from my few matches, its a big downgrade to the quality of the game right now.
It definitely fits the theme for Deadlock as it also has a dark noir theme.
I can appreciate how they’re just trying to make the look of the characters consistent. With that said she should be atleast a *little* scarier. It’s endearing and contrasts really well with her very sociable personality.
