My game is inspired by games like Rollercoaster Tycoon and Transport Tycoon.. Which actually have been published by MicroProse in the past! So this is great news.

Today is the last day left to sign the Stop Destroying Games initiative against planned obsolescence tactics being used to remotely disable video games.

If you like being able to play the games you bought regardless of their age and if you are a citizen of the EU, you can still sign it.

The good news is, this is not a simple petition, it is a “European Citizens’ Initiative”, which is an official EU process to get an issue to the attention of the European Commission.

It successfully collected more than the required 1 million signatures, which means the Commission now has to try and find a solution to this issue.

The next steps will be a presentation to the European Commission representatives, followed by discussions with all involved parties, including industry experts, game developers, publishers, etc. Everyone will be involved.

I found this game on itch.io called “scratching an itch” (I think the dev was trying to make a pun there) which starts as a dating sim and then becomes a rant about everything that is happening with this censorship situation(you can find the game here https://artyfartygames.itch.io/scratching-an-itch). I thought it was pretty neat for a dev to use s game like this, but I wanted to know, what are your thoughts on developers using games to fight back?

Teaguv starts a stream “Patch/update waiting room” out of nowhere. That’s it.

When you think about it, have we really seen Teaguv and Icefrog together in the same room? Makes you think man

Obviously none of these heroes are actually new but they’re the 5 most recently added heroes and they’re simultaneously the 5 lowest pick rate heroes.

What’s everyone’s opinion on why people haven’t latched on to the newer heroes like they did with the originals even after such a large amount of time has passed?

Do you think there’s something in common with their kits that makes them less fun to play?

Do you think most of the player base played at launch and still play the heroes they liked initially?

Do you think the heroes leaked to be coming in the next major update will eventually all have lower pick rates as well?

I’m genuinely trying to understand the phenomenon. Lash is clearly portrayed as an asshole - even he calls himself that. Every line of his reinforces that he’s a tacky, self-absorbed egomaniac. His goals are vain and driven by ego.

Bebop, on the other hand, has a touching backstory. He comes across as a nice guy in the dialogues and just wants to save his mom, Miss Shelly.

So how did the community end up siding with Lash? He gained such a cult following that a separate Discord server had to be created because his supporters overwhelmed the official server. And I see people both in-game and here actively participate in bullying Bebop.

How come?

Haven’t talked about the topic of an Open World Deadlock Map where there’s 8 lanes and you can travel around by foot or horse through the Cursed Apple.

Ideally you could gather materials and complete quests of some kind to progress an overarching story.
