An update regarding the situation with Steam transactions and Paypal according to Rockpapershotgun

Update: Valve have confirmed to RPS that this withdrawal of support for Steam transactions by one of PayPal’s acquiring banks “is regarding content on Steam, related to what we’ve previously commented on surrounding Mastercard”. “In this case, one of PayPal’s acquiring banks decided to stop processing any Steam transactions, which cut off PayPal on Steam for a number of currencies,” a Valve spokesperson added.

I started playing Dota more seriously about a month ago. Before that, I played League of Legends for years, but it completely lost its appeal to me. After reaching Diamond, I ended up uninstalling it for good because of the incredibly toxic community. There are a lot of new mechanics and gameplay elements in Dota, but I’m slowly starting to understand the game. In terms of performance, how significant is it that I went from Herald 1 to Guardian 1 in a month? Am I progressing too slowly? What advice would you give to help me improve in the game? I’m open to any tips or suggestions.

Its been two years since the release of Dota Dragon Blood season 3 AND we GOT Marci as a playable character(and i LOVE her) but i wish we could have Fymryn as a playable character since the only characters that we have that apear in the anime are Davion,Mirana,Luna,Oracle,Invoker,Auroth(winter Wivern),Rylai,Lina and Marci and Arc Warden and Terror Blade,and Fymryn should be playable,do you guys think that Fymryn should be playable?

I laughed and explained that most pros have my mmr beaten by a factor of 5. Even if I had their skillsets today, it would take me ages to get into that bracket. But I used to think it was a different game in every skill bracket. The hellscape of the sub-1k mmr bracket vs the flawless fundamentals of 5k+ and the solid team play you see beyond that. (I think? Its been a long time since I was in the higher brackets).

Back in 2015 as I was wrapping up college I was playing in a much higher tier of dota and at a level I look back at with fuzzy memory.

My reflexes were fast, my friends were competitors in things like star ladder and some other events. I wasnt as good as them, but I had the right macro sense and enough positioning/map awareness to support well.

The ten years since have not been as kind, half the people on my steam list are numbered immortals that I wouldnt dream of ranking with now. While the other half have three digits …

I ran into this post on Facebook they were violated inside their fountain for 30 mins straight before the dire called gg.

So I do not know how widely is it known in the community, but there is an insanely rampant problem that affects almost all ratings (yes even the highest ones). This problem is called “account binding”.

How does it work? Account binding in Dota 2 works by creating a new account on the same PC as an existing high-MMR “donor” account so the steam system links them (as an anti smurf measure probably). Before creating the new account, players usually log out, clear Steam’s cache, and prepare a clean environment so no old account data interferes. And then the only thing you have to do is play the required amount of hours before you can join ranked. The unranked games do not take away from your hidden mmr but there is a high chance you could be placed in the smurf pool but that can be avoided as well. The only games that matter are the calibration games, so yes …

I am not entirely sure if the title is fact, but it certainly feels that way, early game high impact chars at least in pubs aren’t useful, with how little punishment the respawns give you early on you aren’t really phased as a late game scaling character for completely selling the early game.

Eventually you will outscale everyone in the lobby and the gun counters are rather expensive, at least the late game effective ones.

Obviously in coordinated teams this isn’t the case since lanes are much more managed and you can actually push advantages, but it feels like if you don’t play a hyper carry currently you’re just doomed to lose regardless of you doing well or not.
