Seems a bit much but it’s gonna be worth it!
I DIDNT KNOW THEY MEANT THE FIRST XBOX GUYS HELP I CANT EVEN PLAY THIS I WAS LIKE 2 WHEN THIS CONSOLE CAME OUT SHIIIIIIIT
Assuming the mods don’t forget, I get banned when Silksong releases. I know this is literally my second post but also pretend like you know me really well so it’s more dramatic. Anyways I need to go actually play Hollow Knight cause I said I’d play it when Silksong got a release date.
I spent most of last week wandering the halls the Gamescom talking to devs and seeing upcoming games. I posted about a bunch of the games on Reddit and through responses from the different communities, I’ve realized a few things are not common knowledge. So here’s a small behind-the-scenes look you might find interesting.
Press and Public booths are not the same
This is more of a Gamescom specific thing. There is a clear separation between the public showfloor and the professional area. The public showfloor is what you’ll see pictures of: the expensive booths, the loud music, the hordes of people lining up to play games, … The professional area booths are way more muted, except for a few exceptions like 007 First Light which was highly decorated and had a nice car parked in front, most professional booths are just white cardboard boxes with a logo on them. If you enter these booths, they have some decoration and some are even pretty nice, but it’s …

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is truly fantastic, and the type of game I had wished Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound had been. It hits all the right beats for the genre, and its combat progression keeps Joe Musashi powerful without feeling unstoppable, due to some fantastic work with its roster of enemies and bosses. As Shinobi is the first step in Sega’s big ‘Power Surge Program’, it hopefully stands as …
Hi, I’m Zsombor (Zsombi), one of the devs at Space Rock Games, a small indie studio from New Zealand.
We’ve been working on a silly little game called Doomsday Diner — a first-person diner sim set in the apocalypse. You run the last hot dog stand, cooking food, brewing coffee, serving bizarre orders, upgrading your diner, and shooting down raiders who want your money.
Before this, we were working on a much bigger project called Criminals Within. But without a publisher funding the project we couldn’t continue — and in 2023, when funding across the industry collapsed and even publishers started closing down, it became clear we’d have to adapt.
We put the game on hold and shifted our focus to third-party projects, even going through layoffs, just to keep the studio alive. It was very tough, but ultimately it’s what saved us.
However, we always knew we eventually wanted to get back to making our own games. The key was finding something small enough that we could build ourselves, …

“I still regret not knowing English or not learning it. If I had learned English, I wouldn’t be here right now. I’d be at Tundra, or maybe even Shopify Rebellion.
Shopify Rebellion and Tundra actually talked to me. Liquid only mentioned a stand-in role, which was fine, but Shopify called me before they picked up Timado. They called me first. We spoke with BuLba, he spoke English, and I understood him, but he said I don’t really speak English that well, that I only understands a little, and he was like, ‘Let me clarify.’ That was actually one of the main reasons why Thiolicor (or I don’t remember exactly who) left Shopify at the time.
I think it’s too late now… it’s not that my time has passed, I just don’t know. But I know I wouldn’t still be here; I’d be in Europe making $50k a month. I’d come back with a TI trophy within a year. The problem is… I’m just too lazy.”

How it happened to me. Everything was great, not a single f**kup across 1.5 years, and then, boom, fired a day after TI in Copenhagen due to a stupid contract clause. All because a girlfriend of the owner’s close friend urgently needed a job.
[She is] a person who has never been involved in team management and has never solved team issues. By the way, I did not receive anything after GG: no exit bonus or compensation. Only threats that if I spread anything about the inner operations, I will be summoned to court.

“Congratulations to the Falcons team on their victory at Fissure. It was a great game, but our opponents played better than us. The Falcons proved to be the strongest team; they did a great job. Skiter, my respects to you.”
Hey you lot we talked to Collapse ahead of TI.

Not sure how many Dota players are also Final Destination fans, but being a fan of both— it just hits harder after watching the movie more than half a year since the actor’s passing (The movie was just released recently)
It also makes sense why he played Night Stalker, because he usually acted in horror films.
Anyway, if Dota has an Aegis of Champions that displays past TI winners, they should also have like a clickable tombstone or memorial for past employees and actors who have since passed away— especially since the game is already >10 years old.
“But seriously, we just played badly and lost. I, in particular, played badly. It’s all fair. I’m glad that I have the luxury of losing when I play badly.”
I genuinly do not know what people where expecting the finished design to look like. This is exactly the kind of direction i expected them to take with her design.
Because the new update introduced the first Vampire character
