Oh how the tables have turned
Just saw that Dune: Awakening is doing a free weekend from September 11-15 if anyone’s been curious about it. You get access to the full game with no restrictions, and any progress you make carries over if you decide to buy it. They’re also doing 20% off the full game from Sept 11-22, plus there’s new Chapter 2 content dropping on September 9 so there should be fresh stuff to check out. You even get a free base decoration just for playing during the weekend. I’ve been playing it for a while and it’s actually pretty solid - good time to jump in if you’ve been on the fence. Anyone else planning to check it out?
So after TI 11, Faith_Bian was interviewed as he had announced his retirement (as Chinese retirements go) from the Dota pro scene.
He had decided to pursue his lifelong dream of learning piano in Germany with the goal of performing Goldberg’s Variation BWV 988, a piece considered one of the most challenging arrangements to perform.
On the topic of Dota, he apologizes for their performance and addresses mistakes they made, from draft to decision making. The interview eventually revolved around the future of professional Dota in China. In which he states, “I believe that we will struggle, but should be able to show our true strength by 2025.”
When asked how he can be so sure, he replied. “I’ll be Bach”
So apparently, out of millions of predictions for Road to The International, literally zero people got all 16 teams placed correctly. Not one.
The best part? Only 0.02% even got at least 10 right. If you’re one of those people, you’re basically an oracle.
Guess it just shows how wild Dota can be. Time to lock in those main event predictions and hope we don’t get humbled again. TI resumes Thursday—let’s go.
didn’t see the text at the bottom while choosing the teams. I thought the 4-0 teams and others were vertical.
Was there a time when someone did correctly predict the full team fantasy placements
Worst experience hands down so far last night. I don’t give a shit about balance, what heroes are “OP”, the matchmaking, the ranking, nothing really. I just log on with friends to vibe and get some wins.
Normal game yesterday, nothing happened all match, close game even we were only 3k behind and then out of no where our edgelord Seven spews out this utter nonsense in team chat after he dies mid. I respond in voice chat only to get yelled back the N word at the top of his lungs multiple times. Okay of course, easy report and move on.
What baffled me was calling this racist out in all chat only to get the 9 other random people in the lobby being racist and toxic as well, agreeing with this bozo. Never saw this so far in 250 hours.
I know the influx of new players can bring these kinds of players and yea there’s tools and all to just mute but I like to have voice chat to do callouts and have better team coordination. Kinda sucks if I need to mute all like in …
After the recent posts of the new hero models, I saw some confusion over the lighting and shader in past updates, so I looked up some old gameplay and patch notes to make a comparison of how the shaders have changed over the past year.
