EDIT: The important section of the article in question since it is a little meandering:
Embark posted videos of this approach to animation back in 2019. Since then, Söderlund says, they’ve developed systems for generating weapon models. “We’ve come so far now,” he told the mag. “Let’s say that you want a new weapon built in The Finals. We can take a video from YouTube, feed it through our tools and pipelines, and [produce] a 3D model of the weapon you had in that video.” The results aren’t immediately usable in themselves. “That might sound like wizardry and I would be lying if I told you that it’s perfect - it isn’t,” Söderlund went on, “but it works, and that output is something we can then work with.”
Machine learning has been a part of game making tool-kits for a long time and I have understood the AI voices used by Embark before (assuming the voice actors are compensated the same as if they …

Never seen so many active game developers in one sub before.
I’ll just be a raider when the game drops next week, see you all there!
EDIT: Apparently this was just for the Server Slam. Thanks to our community lead for responding! I’m leaving the post up for posterity so people could easily see the official response. I’ve only got one last request for Embark:
EMBARK PLS FIX REGIONAL PRICING FOR CIS,MENA,LATAM AND SASIA.
https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/pricing/currencies
Also Taiwan was listed in the initial regional price announcement but they still haven’t received it.
Original body text:
According to Embark “these modifications can appear for a limited time on the map”. Feel like some of these are not very inclusive depending on your timezone and continent. Personally I’d prolly miss most of these during my 9 to 5 and uh, sleep. Wonder if there could be a more inclusive alternative, perhaps different IRL times for each server region like EU and OCE. What do y’all think?
These waves of casual Valorant, Warframe or Marvel Heroes type of players (games I love btw) are ruining extraction shooters one by one by always pressing devs for equalizing features which go AGAINST the point of an extraction game where there’s a lot of randomness. This already happened in Delta Force which messed up with looting as you don’t loot better shit than what you’re having and now they’re trying to pressure ABI devs into some corny shit as well.
This ain’t CS or WoW to equalize gear. These people come from other genres with 0 understanding, consideration or vision besides what they feel is “fair and unfair”. I wish devs would repeat my title out loud and double down on it. At the end of the day these games are pvpve looter shooters with survival elements. The idea of competitiveness or gear equalization goes against the damn genre.
Like what are we doing as a community. These requests are just so laughable from a design standpoint …
Why doesn’t Embark release the game right now though?
If I helped you and you want to help me back, you could check out the latest video I posted which goes over every single enemy ARC in the game! I also have a video with 70 tips and tricks, most of which aren’t in image format yet. I also have a Discord server if you wanna come and discuss tips, tricks, myths…
See you tomorrow, Raider!
I’ve seen some amazing suggestions made by the community for this game, but man… The amount of outlandish and frankly stupid suggestions made by a lot of players baffles me.
From turning the game into a completely different experience altogether, to have a morality system that punishes PvP???? Like bro hello? I’ve gained so much respect for the creators of this game over the past week, filtering some of these out must be mind numbing
EDIT: To those who say there are no stupid ideas, some I’ve seen people try to have implemented are:
-Getting rid of PvP -Getting rid off weapons and shields/augments being lost upon death -Introducing morality systems that punish PvP and reward cooperation -Making ARC less of a threat -Turning the game into a Battle Royale -Adding SBMM And those are just the ones I remember right now
Skill Up just posted a great interview with Executive Producer Aleksander Grøndal, packed with interesting details about ARC Raiders. I used AI to summarize the key points since the interview is over 30 minutes long — but it’s definitely worth watching in full!
FOR FUCKS SAKE!
So, like many of us, my friend and squadmate was discussing with me what it is about this game that makes us feel like we do. You know the feeling, we’ve all had it at some point. You wake up thinking about a game… When you finish work you rush to play it… Now I haven’t had that for YEARS. I just turned 44 this week and I was trying to work out why this game in particular hits like it does.
Then I realized, It’s nostalgia. Hear me out. When we played the server slam, it was the first the two of us had ever seen or heard about Arc Raiders, we went in totally blind and there were so many things that made us think of the classic sci-fi movies and shows, Running Man, Buck Rogers, Star Wars, even Terminator. Everything from the clothing design, to the scenery, it all had nods to the shows we grew up with.
I said to him this feeling reminds me of being a kid at Xmas again, 10 years old, under the tree with a new action figure… It’s stupid, but …
