“In a stunning development attributable to the public outrage that started here on games fray and reflecting concern over implications for the reputation of the U.S. patent system as a whole, USPTO Director John A. Squires has personally ordered, at his own initiative, his organization to take another look at Nintendo’s U.S. Patent No. 12,403,397. The Director determined that ex parte reexamination was in order because of two older published U.S. patent applications, one of which was filed by Konami in 2002 and the other by Nintendo itself in 2019 (it was published in 2020). Either one of those prior art references “teaches a player being allowed to peform a battle ina manual mode and in a simpler, automatic mode.” This may be the first such order in more than a decade (we’ll discuss that further below).”
I love this game
If we had an explosive collar we could put on people as we get them back up and if they go to far from us or kill us it will explode. I think this would add an extra layer to interactions with other raiders .
Entire tree lines and large rocks disappearing on low view distance… add in low foliage settings… good luck hiding!

i got a bit sus when he said let me check for people xD
I started playing this game last week with a “kill or be killed” mindset. If I saw a player, and wasn’t actively trying to rush somewhere in particular, I shot. Because even if they hadn’t shot at me yet, they probably would later. It was partially about the loot, but mostly about self-defense, and the assumption that this was how the game worked.
Then I had a transformative few rounds playing solo. I was downed by ARC near extraction, and a stranger helped escort me onto the train to escape. Another player came across me and said he was opening a nearby locked door and asked if I wanted to share the loot.
And strangest of all, after taking a rocket to the face, someone ran over and defibbed me. He brought an item that used up valuable inventory space, for no benefit to himself, but only on the off chance that a stranger might need his help. What kind of man does such a thing?
But that was the wrong question to ask. The real question to ask was: with people …
Playing last night. Night raid.
Damn map and I rush control tower, picking up all of that sweet sweet loot, and I run into this woman. “Don’t shoot!” I cautiously keep my finger on the trigger… She says she is fifty and terrible at shooting, so we loot up and leave.
Run into what sounds like a ten year old kid on the first floor, who would not stfu! We say bye and run for the extraction. He follows us and is talking the whole time in what I can only describe as a nails on a chalkboard voice. After about five mins of making our way across the map and fighting/avoiding arc, I had enough of the chatter. So I stick him with a lure grenade. He runs around screaming “What the hell!?!? What is happening!” as the arc are lighting him up. She pulls out a ferro and knocks him with a shot to the head and we leave him. Maybe 200 yards from the elevator.
We enter the elevator and all she says is “This is the way. Damn kid needed to shut up”
Behold this absolute tragedy
Sincerely, totally a fellow Raider
I know its hard for some people to see it, or believe it, but Arc being hard to kill and requiring thought to avoid is super important to the game. Most PvEPvP extraction-type games are just regular PvP games with some extra steps.
The reason so many Solos are in “please don’t kill me” mode is that they’re just trying to survive out here. They just got run down by 3 drones and barely hobbled away with a few arc powercores to sustain themselves, and now they just wanna loot this Fu**ing cat bed from this God*amned apartment or whatever and be on their merry way.
It’s a PvE experience with PvP potential looming overhead, and I think it’s both unique and a core element to the game’s success. Frankly, if anything, the mini-boss Arcs are too easy to kill (with the right tools.)
Anyway, please don’t nerf the Arc.
