I understand everyone has their own opinions about PvP in this game, but this is speaking strictly from a game-theory perspective and nothing else:

ARC isn’t a zero-sum game like Tarkov where killing someone actually increases your expected value. ARC is a positive-sum loot economy, there’s more than enough gear on the map for every team to leave rich without ever shooting another player.

So from a game-theory perspective:

PvP is almost always a negative-EV move.

• You risk losing all your loot
• You burn ammo/meds
• You waste precious time
• And players rarely carry anything you actually need

But here’s the big thing players don’t realize:

When you start a fight, you force other teams to “defect.”

One gunshot triggers the whole lobby:

• Third parties collapse
• Everyone starts playing paranoid
• A chain reaction of aggression wipes out multiple teams

What you end up with is one final squad alive among 6–8 eliminated teams…
and that last team can’t even carry the loot that’s on the …

I found 2 epic weapons in a locked room last night. Best guns ive ever found by far. Hell, I haven’t even seen epic guns up to this point. So i started toward extract, but there was another dude fighting nearby, and I was NOT taking chances. I hurried down the zipline and hit the button for the extraction, and then i set a jolt mine at the base of the zipline and waited. Sure enough he comes down saying “dont shoot,” but it’s too late for all that. He gets stunned and i blast the shit out of him. He’s down saying “wtf man,” and i say “look, just get on the train. Im not going to kill you but i have WAY too much shit to risk you standing around.”

He says “understandable, thank you” and we leave.

Lmao i love this game.

For the record, I spent the remainder of the evening getting shit on and losing a ton of my stash. Ups and downs folks, I had fun the whole time!

Hi everyone!

I just got the game on release and been wanting to play since I missed TT2, and I love it so far, as well as my friends.

Other than some desync, it’s a great !! GOTY for us definitely :D

Can I suggest something? The animation during the tube deployment is so cool and atmospheric, almost like Helldivers 2’s dive scene. It really sets the mood.

But I only see myself, I was wondering if there could be a future update where it splits the screen and show my friends (team) with their names (or not) on it? :)

You can vary the angle or action a slight bit (like Night vs normal deployment) To make less identical looking hehe. Also varying shapes of the ‘split’, any screen-split ‘shape’ I’d be happy i’d say. haha.

It’s just a suggestion. I wonder if people would also like it, i hope it gets upvoted.

PS- Thank you Embark for making this game, it’s so good …

fully geared with no chance of even using it. I love the game, but to put all that together and lose it just from spawning just sours the game for me. Has this happened to you?
