The Bayonetta 3 Casting Controversy

Before the release of Bayonetta 3 on the Nintendo Switch in October 2022, there was a lot of controversy surrounding the recasting of the lead character, Bayonetta. Jennifer replaced Hellena Taylor, who had been the voice of the character up until then. With regards to the third game, Hellena Taylor claimed to have been offered too low of a fee to reprise the role by PlatinumGames, although it later came to light that Taylor was offered a higher fee than publicised.

Amidst this storm, Jennifer was drafted into the role with a job to do, and I was curious to find out whether it would affect her interest in portraying Bayonetta again.

How do you feel this one compares to the previous Ninja Gaiden games? Did Platinum Games make a worthy successor? Or does this new installment sully the name?

Personally, I enjoyed the game but nowhere near as much as Ninja Gaiden 1 or 2. I think it’s 100% better than 3, but I also think no one is going to disagree there. I think the combat pacing was much faster than the other NG games, and it felt a lot more button-mashy. In previous games, I always felt in control of my combos because button mashers would just get punished by the enemies. That didn’t seem the case this time around.

Without spoiling too much, I also felt like Ryu got shafted and I was disappointed they went a similar route as Devil May Cry 4 when it comes to the character swap.

I got a bunch of free games from a free Amazon trial and don’t need them. First come first serve, one per person!

The game, Remnants of the Settlers, is our take for a simpler 4X turn-based strategy game.

The game

You arrived in a land with other refugees for survival, but there isn’t enough for everyone. Build up your city and forge a way for your people to survive!

You will:

• Gather natural resources
• Pillage enemy units and buildings to take their resources
• Claim your land tile by tile
• Protect your land through the game’s border pressure mechanic!

You guys made my night. Loaded into solos on Stella Montis last night expecting a bloodbath. Within minutes of spawning I hear someone creeping around the corner. I exit the hall and see two guys crouch walking in a line. One of them says “we are crab walking the whole map”. Okay bet, I get in line.

We go to Lobby and now the line is 6 deep, with the guy in front yelling “join the crabs or die”. We run across a few people that don’t join. They are killed. We lost a crab in one of the battles.

We march towards the bastion and as we approach the leader says we are taking him down with pickaxes. Everyone draws their tool and we jump down. We are beating the hell out of the bastion, and they are screaming “for the crabs!”

All of us died im pretty sure. It was absolutely hilarious. I hope someone recorded it. I love this game for dumb moments like this.

Also, my wife now thinks this game is weird.

It’s like going through a meadow picking flowers

Just wiped maybe 12 people we were all teaming up as an army but had no idea where the gunfire was coming from. The player even admitted to doing it afterwards. I mean I reported them but I highly doubt anything will happen.

Now I don’t even want to play that map……

That was such a fun matriarch kill too. I used the legendary snap hook thing to hook onto the top of the matriarch and planted a pulse bomb I found on the map. It was the final blow.

I thought I was being “sniped” the first time I attempted this feat, and had someone do interference for me while trying the second successful time. Probably was the same guy/people in unfair spots on the map the entire time.

Make it medium ammo, keep the damage and adjust armor pen accordingly. Done.
