Hi! I’m the solo indie dev of Katanaut, which is a fast-paced action-roguelite blending fluid combat with a blend of cosmic horror. If you’re curious about the gameplay, check out Splattercatgaming’s play through here! The demo is also live on Steam if you’re curious on trying it out!
The premise behind Katanaut is you’re set aboard a massive space station falling into cosmic chaos. With the station slowly spiraling out of control, and its once-human inhabitants twisted into terrors, you’re the unlucky one trying to uncover what is going on. You’ll have to fight through station’s violent halls with souls-like combat.
Katanaut’s built around quick, deliberate combat where positioning and timing matter. You get a mix of melee weapons, off-hand weapons, cybernetic implants, and perks to shape your build as you go. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to make the movement and combat feel responsive and satisfying, and would …

Gretal and Hansel Parts 1 and 2 were popular adventure games released on Newsgrounds in 2009 and 2010, with hand-painted watercolor graphics. Part 3 was announced but never released and updates were sparse until last week, when the creators revealed that not only is Part 3 still in development, the remaking the first two in a 2.5D style.
So far it looks pretty good.

A while back, I got sick of rating games as simply good or bad, but then struggled to give them what I would consider an accurate rating out of 5 or 10 or whatever, because there is so many things to judge a game on, and sometimes a great game can have something terrible that holds it back, and a terrible game can have something great that makes it worth playing. So I came up with a bit of a rating system to try and score them. It only works on single player story driven games, but here’s how it works:
I rate each game out of 6 in the following categories:
I have 270+ hours on BG3 and 200+ hours on DOS2. Both bought on Steam.
BG3 is a very, very long game and the start on the ship does not completely show everything, but it does give you the feel, kind of. Demos are morally needed for almost every game, imo. And it is a bit more difficult to refund if you spend 2 hours on creating a character.
You will see how your pc handles it. You will see how you enjoy the vibe and the feel. It is a quite a niche genre compared to FPSs and the CRPG/DND fans probably do 100% not need the demo. The outsiders could use it as a way to see what they think of it and if they should spend money, making it more easy for someone to test the game that isn’t used to a turn based CRPG.
It does not need to be long, that would differ per game, so I can’t say a specific size of a Demo.
The only thing I am uncertain of is if it would affect the sales, but I think it is still moral for a Demo to exist.
BG3, Elden Ring(Kind of?), Like a Dragon, …
“Puck’s attacks deal bonus magic damage. Puck attacks all enemies within its attack range every time it phase shifts.”
This seems to not be working correctly? It’s maybe 50 attack range off what it should be. I’ve noticed this happen frequently in-game but I had to test it to be sure.
ember left when the enemy is hitting our ancient, somehow the enemy threw with no bb, mk went afk, and we just won. So now ember got an abandon and -25. lmao
remember kids, the game isnt over until it’s actually over.
Right before the facet patch, the hero was giga broken when leveling ult gave extra abilities to the Dragon.
Then the facet patch came and removed that. Thank God, now he is dead. Oh no, turns out that the Fire Dragon had cleave, was an insane farmer and best HC in the game, even without the other abilities on the Dragon. You don’t even care about the other facets.
Then the new patch comes and removes cleave on fire dragon. Now he must be dead. Oh wait, your passive now gives so much damage that you don’t even need the cleave. He is broken again.
Finally, that is nerfed. Is he dead? Oh wait, actually Corrosive and Frost Dragon are good facets who were just ignored because Fire was too broken.
When is the hero going to be in the dumpster??
Am I losing my god damn mind or is anyone else having trouble securing souls no matter if they’re right next to the minion, blasting pre-fire on a dying minion, or buying high velocity? I only play Mo so maybe it’s him but since the last big patch I feel hopeless fighting anyone who actually contests my souls. They get massive early game leads and it’s an incredibly unfair advantage. My only option shouldn’t be to hit every minion. I have a stable, cabled, gigabit fiber connection and i’m in the NW USA. This feels like it is some sort of lag issue but I really don’t know.
This is legitimately game ruining because I cannot compete for early advantage and have to be hyper forward to keep just my own souls, constantly putting me in enemy range
You can use eshift as you are ziplining and it causes a very strange bug.
Seems like you are both able to move normally and on a zipline
Lash can 1 and it will resume the bugged state You can trampoline and it’ll still work You can easily cancel this by doing anything to get off zipline, it’s just very goofy
Someone asked me sketch her and now I’m getting invested in the game. Funny how that works, went from going “meh” at the game announcement, to wanting to play the game so bad I can’t sleep sometimes
You can teleport to your assistant as Sinclair mid zipline causing you to fly back to your original position, still on the zipline.
You can even do this using the teleporter and fly across the entire lap
