It appears that the developer of Borderless Gaming used Magpie’s code and is selling it as his own software in violation of the GPLv3, while rejecting all accusations
On Magpie’s GitHub page, a large amount of evidence is accumulating showing that the Borderless Gaming developer used Magpie’s GPLv3 code to create a new “reimagined after 11 years” version that is being sold on Steam. This would not be an issue if the license terms were respected. Instead, the Borderless Gaming developer dismisses all accusations, claims the code is his own, and comes up with excuse after excuse for every new piece of evidence
At first, he had no choice but to admit that all Borderless Gaming shaders are derivatives of Magpie’s shaders, because they are not just similar, but 100% identical, except that MagpieFX was renamed to BGFX. You can literally use a Magpie shader without any changes and it will work. To avoid the implications of the GPLv3 license, which would force him to open-source all of …
Hey everyone! Hope you’re all having a good one.
It officially happened, our game Atre: Dominance Wars hit 40,000 Wishlists today!
This community has been incredibly supportive, and generally places like this one are a huge part of why we’ve been able to achieve this. The encouragement and feedback from people we’ve met on Reddit have meant so much to us during development, and while I’m usually not the kind of person to celebrate milestones publicly, this was just too good not to.
Considering all of this, I wanted to give something back and do something fun here.

Hey folks! I’m the AAA-developer (R* North, Build a Rocket Boy (yeah, that one!), Splash Damage) turned solo-indie dev of AETHUS, a sci-fi survival/base-building game set on (and below) an alien planet, which you’ll explore to mine and gather resources to build up your mining outpost on the surface, while unravelling a dystopian narrative involving ultracapitalist megacorporations!

I’m happy to announce that the game will be releasing straight to v1.0 on March 6th on Steam!
You can also check out the brand new Story Animatic Release Date Trailer!
I’ve been working incredibly hard for nearly three years to create a survival game that’s actually narrative-driven, with a proper story. You can take it at your own pace, but there’s always a compelling reason to go exploring, expand your base, and dig a bit deeper into the underground!
I can’t remember the last …
TLDR: gaming needs demos back, discussion.
I think to bring back genuine game hype we need demos. Some of my best memories of gaming were buying a monthly magazine that came with a demo disc for upcoming games (PS1 era for me). I could even include the 360 in the argument too though.
It was because of the demos that I’d build genuine hype and excitement for games, and by seeing their basic mechanics “hung out to dry” for the consumer, I feel that they couldn’t hide behind cinematic trailers etc. that don’t come close to the final product.
I understand and appreciate the cost of creating a demo may be high, and also the fact it doesn’t represent the final product may actually harm sales. However, I’m looking to open a discussion on this and would appreciate insider knowledge from game designers etc..
I’m not the kind of guy who complains about other players. My general mentality is ‘play however you want’. PvP, Backstabbing, that’s all part of the game and I’m fine with it. But today, I witnessed something I simply can’t forgive.
I was playing solos on Buried City. I eventually bumped into an other Raider who seemed friendly. We teamed up, took down a Bombardier, and headed to extract.
As we head down into the subway, I watched with horror as this guy just walked down the stairs. No sliding, no crouching, just normal walking like an absolute psycho.
Obviously, I immediately dropped the guy, and he had the gall to act like he didn’t do anything wrong.
I might have to take a break from the game for a while after this.
This is how all of you who are expecting reimbursement sound
The leaper was abit of an after thought and I ran out of parts to finish it, so we’ll say it’s been damaged.
Genuinely the funniest thing I’ve ever had happen in this game! These guys came in, downed us and were talking mad sh*t. He goes to revive his buddy and revived me instead🤣
Even though they said earlier in the discord chat that it was “unintended and the team was aware of the issue” they have now updated the official game announcement on discord saying it was an intended change.
