ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN represents, for better or worse, the pinnacle of creative freedom for Grasshopper Manufacture and Suda51: a punk action game, visionary and often brilliant in its staging, but which pays a small price in terms of gameplay cleanliness and accessibility. If you love Suda51’s aesthetic, delirious sci-fi stories, and aren’t afraid of a combat system that is more spectacular than rigorous and technical, the game has all the makings of a true cult classic. I think this warrants an everyone ping. Microsoft has taken Allumeria down from steam. They claim that this screenshot infringes on their copyright. Obviously, this is a bogus claim. But it puts me in a very dangerious, and very scary position. I have 10 days to figure out what I am going to do here. The safest thing to do is just roll over and die basically. Allow them to delete the game. If I do fight it, then i could be ruined by a large corporation. I genuinely do not know what to do. I probably need to get a lawyer or something but not sure I can afford one. If anyone has any advice for how to proceed please let me know.

I am posting it here so that people can learn more about this and pushback against this can be made. Microsoft shouldn’t be allowed to copyright strike a game for made up reasons. I am not affiliated with the dev.

What if the afterlife wasn’t a divine judgment, but a mid-level corporate audit?

In Congratulations, This is Hell, players step into the cubicle of a soul-processing clerk for a corporate empire in the clouds. The Player’s job is to decide who goes to Heaven or Hell by referencing “Life Documents of the Dead” against a rigid, nonsensical corporate handbook.

The catch? The company doesn’t care if a soul was a saint or a sinner—they only care if you follow the rulebook. However, Total obedience of the Rulebook means inevitably sending terrible people to Heaven, causing chaos in the living world upon their rebirth.  It’s a satirical balancing act between corporate survival and the fate of humanity.

Posted this same question on X and it seems most people don’t think a ban should be given but rather items/coins removed instead if the duplication bug was used to sell items. What are the thoughts of the people of Reddit on a possible ban?

Update: X post is now at 2,950 votes with 60.3% saying no ban and 39.7% saying yes to a ban.

I’m a solid PvE player as I’m pushing 50 years old and I’m tired a lot, but I get and appreciate you blood thirsty lot out there. Without that threat, you get to a point that the arc are predictable and it would make the game stale.

Having said that, I got a little too confident with my PvE lobbies. I run into games with my level 4 Anvil and level 4 Hullcracker modded to the hilt. Say hi to folk, see if they want a hand and have destroyed Rocketeers/Bastions etc and played the guitar while other folk loot them as all my benches are upgraded.

Last night I got whacked. No talk, nothing, just set upon with great vengeance and furious anger. Lost all my goop including a Tempest I pulled from a lock box.

I think I sat for 20 minutes at the end screen just mulling over what I did wrong and I realised I was the problem. Not ever raider is a ray of sunshine. I need to be more careful.
