Steam Next Fest ends tomorrow! meaning some demos will become unavailable after.
I wanted to give people the chance to share their favorite demo finds in time for others to still be able to check them out.

My own picks in the comments so they don’t steal the spotlight.
Edit: Here’s the thread from the start of this Next Fest which already has a bunch of great recommendations if you’re looking for more.

Hello r/games! Glad to join you on Indie Sunday.
I’m one of the game designers working on Adrullan Online Adventures, an open-world voxel MMORPG in a fully hand-crafted world we’ve been building with a small team over the last few years.
Yesterday we announced our upcoming public Community Alpha Test 7 that will begin on April 1st and will run through April 6th.
This is very much a passion project. We’re longtime MMO players who grew up on games like EverQuest and wanted to capture that slower, social, dangerous world feeling… but modernize it where it makes sense. Combat is tab-targeted with deliberate pacing and real threat management. Our vision is that every class can progress solo, but truly shines in a group setting.
Choose one of 16 classes and spend time questing, grinding and challenging yourself against events. If you love crafting, we have a comprehensive, yet easy to enter crafting system with 16 different tradeskills and counting.
Platform: Windows PC
Status: Alpha …

Now hiring: work a dead end job in the mailroom of a regional office of Hell located in Modesto, California. It’s a scarier version of “Papers, Please” set in the Devil’s corporate office full of frogs and toilet paper. Can you find out what’s really going on and escape with your soul?
We’re releasing the game on Steam in 2026. Release date is to be announced.
Had a great time in Next Fest! It’d be great if you played it and left us a wishlist! Thanks!

Use this thread to discuss whatever you’ve been playing lately (old or new, AAA or indie). Don’t just list the names of games as your entire post, make sure to elaborate with your thoughts on the games.
Make sure to use spoiler tags if you’re posting anything about a game’s plot that might significantly hurt the experience of others that haven’t played the game yet (no matter how old or new the game is).

I was playing BF6 today and can’t help but feel meh about progress without paying for the battlepass. Anyone else feeling the same?
I’m old, used to play games and get excited about progressing my levels and unlocking things as I went along, new skins, new mods, whatever. Now, especially with BF6, yeah, I gain a level to “whatever” title, and see all the “stuff” I could have if I paid.
Well, I already paid for the damn game, 80$ for whatever edition, fuck your greed and demanding I pay X$ every quarter if I want to unlock more things.
Where 10-15 years ago I would easily sink 6+ hours a weekend into a game, now I play for an hour or so, go “meh” and go do something else.
If you got it, you’re welcome :) now logging off and it’ll all be gone tomorrow
See you next Expedition raiders.
So my husband and I were playing Arc Raiders last night. we like to run the Stella montis free loadout sometimes just for the chaos lmao
We ran into another group and I got downed first. They weren’t talking at first, but after a bit they started shooting us. Sometimes when I die I jokingly go “I’m just a girl, be nice”. not in a serious way, just because I literally never run into other women in this game and it’s become a bit.
And their response was immediately like:
“we love killing women” / “we look forward to that”
Then they killed me.
My husband comes over doing our usual bit — “YOU KILLED MY WIFE” — and the three of them start saying stuff about what they were going to do to my body.
That was the moment where it stopped being normal trash talk and just felt icky
I’ve actually been really lucky and haven’t experienced much sexism in the games I usually play, so it kind of hit me all at once like “damn ok this is not funny”
I’m fine with banter. I’m fine with getting …
Embark, please make this thing louder. It sneaks up behind me while I’m shooting at something else way too easily for a mobile deadline. Maybe add a beeping sound to it or something that lets us know it’s nearby? Leapers have loud footsteps, bastions and bombardiers have footsteps plus beeping sounds, rocketeers engines and propellers are loud, wasp and hornets make noise, fireflies propellers make sound, pops beep like crazy, ticks make noises, so why not the comet? Why does this thing get to silently roll up behind me and blow away the majority of my health?
When I defeated the queen a lot of wasps suddenly showed up. I have no idea where they came from because I didn’t see any while fighting the queen. While I was busy dealing with the wasps, the other raiders looted the queen3
edit: thank you guys for all the compliments!
I give this guy loot and then he downs me while I’m defibbing someone. Tick jumps the rat and buys us enough time to kill him. Sucks for him, he could have left with something, then left with nothing. RIP tick. You shall be remembered.
