It’s been a massive journey to get here. We originally released this title on mobile, but for the DX (Remastered) version, we wanted to do things right for the PC community.

We’ve spent the last few years refining our custom-built engine to capture the specific feeling of the classics we grew up on - games like Freelancer, Freespace, and Wing Commander: Privateer. Now we’re finally ready to launch on Steam (as well as Switch, PS5, and Xbox) on March 12, 2026.

Stellar Wanderer DX combines a fully voice-acted campaign (English only) with an open-world sandbox. You can follow the main story where you play as a mercenary fighter pilot caught in the middle of some intergalactic conspiracies, while you build your fortune through mining, trading, and bounty hunting.

As PC players ourselves, we made sure we included the essentials:

I don’t play many games that involve any serious degree of PvP anymore, but today I picked up Arc Raiders to try with a buddy. Turned out said buddy was actually busier than expected today so it turned out I was stuck playing solo.

It was wishy-washy at first, navigating the menus, figuring out my guns, what I can and can’t reasonably fight, getting demolished by a few PvPers, all that I had to work out with basically no help and some of it was more annoying than others.

I get a quest to find and loot a courier and I have no idea what I’m even looking for. I hop in just to loot some more and see if I bump into it and hope for the best. Then, I bump into someone friendly instead while looting. We confirm we’re not hostile, I tell him I’m new and trying to figure out where or what a courier is, and he says “Ah, yeah, those are the little crashed black UFO things, just look for black smoke and you’ll find them.” We trade a little loot, I thank him, and leave.

Wanna loot without worrying about rats? Wanna use your purple keys? Queue solo v Squads, they’re all killing each other while all the goop is free to take.

Also, you can even play scavenger and wait till the fights are over and then loot all the herbals shields augments etc that the winning team leave behind.

I won’t die for 15 raids in a row. Then, I’ll decide to bring a nice gun in. I upgrade my renegade, perhaps. Then instantly I am ratted on. The only PvP I am ever involved in is when my gun is upgraded. Everything is super peaceful when it’s not. The game is determined to put me in a rat lobby if and only if I have a gun I’d like to not lose.

I’m no Stella noob, I know how to follow the wall signs and floor lines, but I’ve never seen these till now. And I can’t decipher them
