So Unity’s new CEO, Matt Bromberg, did an interview with The Verge where he basically admitted that unity had messed it up. He literally said the company was “at war with its customers” during the whole runtime fee mess.
Now they’ve walked that back, killed the install fee, and returned to a simpler subscription model. Bromberg says they’re focusing on making solid tools for devs instead of weird monetization schemes.
Sounds promising, but still kinda feels like damage control.
Do you think this is actually a new chapter for Unity, or is it too little too late?
Hi, I’m excited to share my game So to Speak which released today.
Release Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OL5SoVNK2E
So to Speak is a puzzle game where you figure out the meaning of Japanese words. I was inspired by games where you decipher a fictional language, like Heaven’s Vault (and later, Chants of Sennaar), and thought it would be so cool if you could discover a real language instead.
You wander around a 2D simulation of Japan, see signs, and hear conversations. You must connect words to nearby objects or text with the same meaning. For example, you can drag a Japanese sign for “entrance” onto an actual building entrance located nearby or the English word “entrance” in the game’s description of the entrance. It includes 650 words and builds up to sentences like “parking is prohibited for people who are not customers of the convenience store.”
What makes it unique is that it doesn’t tell you what words mean …
Suggestion is to give watchers true sight so enemies have to slightly change how they approach warding near watchers
Or just give Spectre’s innate to wisp, so Wisp can phase walk through enemies making tether slow easier to pull off
Spectre’s innate is also horrible so this is 2 birds 1 stone
And also a LINK to the collection
Laning phase feels like punishment, every other game the enemy team AFKs it (or you feel obliged to) - I’m not convinced the gameplay would change at all right now if they removed laning phase, and when it ends you get to track 12 soul vending machines (I’m fine with the machines themselves… I think maybe just a nerf lol).
Honestly, I feel as if I am falling out of love with the new map as well. It feels incredibly cramped, and you’re fighting the tight spaces and the varying levels of height at every second. I’m even starting to miss solo lanes.
I thought I loved all of these changes when they dropped, and now I am feeling dangerously close to taking a hiatus from the game.
I still love the heroes and most of the fights (not Lash), and I definitely understand why they feel they need to make these types of changes to the game, but at the end of the day I find myself asking am I having sufficient fun?
Hello DeadlockTheGame subreddit. I am once again asking for your manifestation skills to manifest an update for tomorrow, April fools.
My guess is they’re going to add googly eyes to all the mystics (see image above). Yoshi, if this isn’t the case, please dm me personally explaining what the plan is.
Or if you’re not yoshi, let me know what you think an update might look like for April fools.
Can he stop saying “Hawk Tuah”?
