After 2 years of hard work, my game finally hit Steam ! The Ember Guardian is a side-scrolling shooter with Base building and defense mechanics.
You’ll be preparing during the day, exploring, scavenging materials and recruiting workers, in order to survive more and more intense night waves.
Core loop:
• Gather and assign workers during the day
• Build and expand your camp
• Survive intense night waves
• If the fire dies, you lose
The game has two main modes:
• Campaign : follow a series of handcrafted levels with various objectives to reignite the 4 Primordial Flames, upgrading your character, base and much more as you progress through the game.
• Horde Mode : a rogue-like, run-based mode where your goal is to survive as long as you can. It features random map generation, and its own meta-progression system.
And don’t worry. There’s a dog, and you CAN pet it.

I saved up 3 million credits throughout this entire season to “chill” on the last phase of the expedition. It’s practically worthless now because of the lack of communication.
I do like the new change but this needed to be implemented in the BEGINNING on the season…
People have lives, on vacation, or have important stuff scheduled… like wtf, Embark. A 5 day window is absurd.
So let me get this straight, it doesn’t matter what I’ve done all wipe, I have to make sure to be online and grinding all day for 5 days straight in an exact window they give me?
Your player base dwindles and you use FOMO to get it back LMAO. That’s certainly the strategy of all time.
And you won’t even give me a precise amount of damage to aim for, so I have to stay online as long as possible during those 5 days? Are the managers getting a bonus from the company shareholders if they hit a certain concurrent player count or what? This is exactly how I’d get my bonus, if it was tied to player count… …
A new Expedition Window is fast approaching and it is time to get your caravan ready. For the third Expedition, we’re doing things a little differently - the big news being that Skill Points will be earned by dealing damage over the five day window, NOT stash value.
Whether you are a seasoned veteran or stepping into your first Expedition, read on for a full breakdown of the changes, requirements, and rewards.
With your caravan built, you have one last opportunity to truly cement your legacy before departure.
The Expedition window will open on the 28th of April at 13:00 CEST/11:00 UTC/04:00 PT. You will have 5 days to sign up and complete the requirements and on the 4th of May at 09:00 CEST/07:00 UTC/00:00 PT, all players who have signed up will depart automatically.
Note that completing your caravan does not count as signing up for the Expedition, you still have to sign up during the 5 day window.
We are also introducing a ‘last call’ feature, read more below. …
Many of us are ready for the expedition, but some players aren’t. I brought two keycards to this raid and was helping out newer players get gooped up. Respect our space or I’ll gun you down. This isn’t about me, but the new buddy I just met!
“AND you’re reported for griefing!” 😭😂
Do you have ANY idea what “griefing” is sir? Looking at that loadout, it appears you were the only one wanting chaos.
Did you guys learn absolutely nothing? Get it together. If you wanna piss off your playerbase all over again (see expo 1) well, congrats. You are doing a fantastic job.
We have a new map dropping and you guys are doing your very best to kill any and all momentum. Just sad, man. Please do better. Ya’ll are beginning to remind me of Bungie Studios with how tone deaf ya’ll are on design changes. One step forward, two steps back.
EDIT: AND WITHHOLDING THE DAMAGE VALUES AND PERAMETERS ONLY SERVES TO REINFORCE THAT YOU GUYS HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THESE DAMAGE PERAMETERS ARE GOING TO BE YET (this is expedition 1 all over again)
It’s been a rough week and things could get messy.
The description of the expedition specifically states that skill points will be earned based off of stash space at the time of send off
This late change to the requirements is an absolute joke.
Way too late into a season to make this change especially since we still have very little info on damage requirements . Also with this not being tested before its possible that requirements are unbalanced
I like the idea of the new requirements but it should’ve been implemented for the next expedition and also should start as soon as you finish the rest of the project
