My first solo-developed indie game, FEED THE QUEEN, released on Steam last Monday! I have been hard at work since last year and have put all of my energy and love into this game. However I wasn’t quite sure what to expect since I didn’t have any other frame of reference or previous experience releasing a game.
Well, whatever expectations I had were completely blown away, with over 30,000 players in less than a week!
After dreaming about developing games full time for years, I finally took the leap last year to fully commit to it, hoping I could make a living out of it eventually after making a few games. The reception so far is very much a dream come true, and it’s gonna take some time to sink in.
I want to extend my sincerest thanks to everyone who’s played FEED THE QUEEN, reviewed it, gave me their feedback, discussed it on the forums, shared it with their friends, made videos or streamed it, … Despite some of the game’s rough edges, the …
I had just started a solo Blue Gate run to get some olives. Fresh raid - spawned in the southeast near the ancient fort and headed to the olive grove.
As I neared the grove, I started taking Rattler fire and hid behind a rock, but the enemy had high ground and was able to headshot me. Not even 2 minutes in.
I was downed and crawled around an embankment and saw a few figures running my way from the north. I repeatedly warned them about the player that knocked me. While I was letting them know, I heard them getting closer and closer and they were all humming and singing some kind of chant. It sounded like Creole or some kind of Caribbean song in another language than English.
In all, there were about 5 of them. One stopped and defibbed me while saying in a quiet voice, “We gotcha brudda.” I stood and healed while hearing a gunfight and once again warned them about my aggressor. One yelled out “He been dealt with, mon. Carry on.”
WTF is this game? LOL
Didn’t know I had it in me to bob and weave the way I did. And to come out unscathed also…
(Not a single 2xp event.)
I know the player base is not what it used to be. Matchmaking times have increased a lot, and players (PvE) are forced into mixed lobbies. They don’t want to hand over the good stuff easily, I see, lol.
Anyway, good luck, devs. I’m hopeful you can fix this.
Played a 3v3 match with randoms. The cheater was pointing out the location of other raiders and what they had. I asked why he does it and how much was it. He said this is how he likes to play, and he pays $50 month. I asked him, didn’t you hear about the new anti cheat aren’t you worried. He said naw, if they ban me ill buy another $2 account.
During the match I felt un motivated to continue playing arc raiders. Like what’s the point.
I started ratting him out to other teams near us, telling them to report him. He told me I was no fun. He also mentioned how he can unreport his account somehow, he wasn’t worried about people reporting him.
I hatched out and I kept watching him. I can see why he has to hack, dude sucks ass at aiming. He almost died to wasp lol.
Crawled for 10 minutes after being clipped by a Bastion and Firely and just made it.
To the two raiders who helped heal me on the way but died to a swarm of Wasps, Hornets and a Firefly, thank you 🫡
