Just playing a game now and noticed my webcam light illuminate for a few seconds. I instantly open up task manager to check and see what could possibly be running that wants access to my camera…

It’s the Denuvo client of Arc Raiders!

Why on earth does an anti-cheat need access to my webcam, and actually use it! Massive invasion of privacy, to say the least!

+Edit+ it’s not a microphone thing. I tested using the webcam mic in-game - the light does not illuminate when it’s only the microphone.

Recently, the devs added more voice lines to extractions, and honestly, I love it. It makes the whole extraction process feel more immersive and alive.

That said, there’s one thing that’s been driving me crazy: the voice lines are completely out of sync with what’s actually happening.

For example, the radio operator will say that the extraction train or doors are powering up, and then immediately follow it up with something like “doors are open” or “you can board now”, except the doors aren’t open yet. Sometimes there’s still several seconds left before they actually open.

I know this is a tiny issue, but once you notice it, it’s hard to ignore. The audio is supposed to provide situational information, so when it’s consistently ahead of the actual event, it feels jarring and takes away from the immersion that the new voice lines are supposed to add.

Am I the only one being bothered by this?

Every second team we run into is either running fully kitted tempest 4s or bobby 4s.
Hell I’ve even watched one of the “top” arc streamers get a fresh drop of Volcano 4s w/ kinetics LIVE ON STREAM 🥲

Why can’t we flex our scrappy skins in front of our brus?
