Around 1994, five of my friends and I got together in one of their parents’ basements and hooked up a bunch of PCs to play Heretic — a fantasy-themed first-person shooter developed by Raven Software and published by id Software. We battled each other one-on-one, and I’ll never forget one match in particular. My opponent and I had burned through all our spells and ammo, except for one last spell. We both cast it at the same time and ended up turning into chickens. And yeah, you guessed it… we spent the next few frantic moments flapping around the map, pecking at each other in the most ridiculous, chaotic, and unforgettable chicken fight ever. Pure 90s LAN party gold.

Had a wholesome moment yesterday. One of the players (random/ not friend) was AFK for the first few mins of the game. Because his 3 yr old kid woke up crying suddenly. None of the other players flamed or said anything we just calmly played and owned our lanes and eventually won the game.
The post game conversation (apparently all of us were dads) was funnily about planning our kids futures and college funding through a 529 account ( for ppl outside USA 529 is a kids college savings account).
I have a 4 year old kid myself and the only time i get to play is after she is asleep. I love the game and wanted to share this wholesome moment. Also goes to show how old the player base is.
TLDR: 5 dads randomly happen to be in the same Dota game. Nobody flamed even when one of them was AFK. we discussed kids college planning
5 days ago I made this post, where Roshan gets stuck on the edge of his bottom pit. He never fully enters his pit, so gets stuck in his ‘travel phase’ where he throws anyone who comes close to him.
But I guess I didn’t win the popularity contest and “get enough updoots” for it to gain the attention and warrant a fix by the developers of Dota 2. A single downvote brings it down to 50% ratio and decides it’s fate to not be fixed.
Today, it affected the outcome of a pro match between Falcons and Team Spirit in the upper bracket.
5k net worth advantage for Falcons at 30 mins, nothing Team Spirit can’t come back from. They get wiped out and only Yatoro/Raddan is left alive. He sees the opportunity for the day/night cycle switching and Roshan walking to his bottom pit.
He has enough time and damage to finish Roshan and get the Aegis, which could significantly turn the tide for his team and prevent Falcons from going high ground. But, as his luck …

kind of hilarious honestly
Urn runs are boring asf and something i think could make them more interesting is the ability to throw the urn like a football. Make a game out of it since most urn runs are just pickup- run to other side- big fight. Itd be able to be intercepted instantly if you manage to run between it and maybe even a flashy touch down mechanic where you can toss it to a teammate on the platform and they can instantly score if caught mid air.
Borh January and February came with pretty large patches. 4 new characters, a new map, and a slew of balance changes. Its been almost two months since the map rework though, and I’m wondering if a new content patch is coming soon. What do people want from a new patch? Do you think somethings getting reworked? will we finally get raven in the base roster? what are we thinking gang
