Zag laatst een video op Instagram dat de waterstanden in sloten en meertjes momenteel erg laag staan door de droogte, en dat het daardoor mogelijk is om rivierkreeften gewoon van de droogvallende plekken te plukken. Zonder visvergunning.

Weet iemand welke plekken hiervoor geschikt zijn in en om Amsterdam? En wat is het beste tijdstip van de dag om te gaan?

Bewoners van Amsterdam-Zuidoost schrijven massaal bezwaarschriften om de komst van een groot datacenter te voorkomen. Zij vinden de bouw onverantwoord in tijden van woningnood en drinkwatertekort.

Actiecomité Stop ZO Datacenter kwam afgelopen weekend uit de startblokken en nu al is de omgevingsdienst bestookt met zo’n tweehonderd zienswijzen. Bewoners willen dat de toezichthouder een streep zet door de komst van het Equinix-datacenter in hun wijk.

I was attacked and badly beaten last Thursday evening - the 6th August around 22:51. I was walking home after a lovely evening and was near the bottom of Kalverstraat near the Munt Toren when it happened. I blacked out (perhaps luckily) and came to in an ambulance.

I have a fractured nose, severely sprained knee and am covered in lumps and bruises all over my face. Nothing was stolen, I still had my phone on my wrist strap, so it sadly seems like some form of hate crime. I am a 53 year old Caucasian woman with short hair. The short hair has often led to people calling me a lesbian. So much wrong with that in itself, but makes me wonder if it was anti Pride hate.

Hoping there are some witnesses that may be able to help and I would also like to thank whoever called the emergency services at 23:06.

This was reported to the police on Friday 7th August, but I have not heard from them yet and am concerned that witnesses may forget and CCTV may be deleted. Therefore posting this. Fingers …

Hebben meer mensen hier ooit (Dick Hilleniuspad, Ijburg) een schok gekregen van de hoogspanning-kabel? Ik heb meerdere keren schokken gekregen van mijn fiets als ik onder deze kabels door fiets. Vind ook dat ze erg laag hangen.

I waited for about 5 minutes for the bridge to open and close, just like all other vehicles there, only to let through a small sail boat…. But the extra 3 seconds it took for the red lights to dim were too much for pretty much everyone as they hurriedly stepped on the gass as soon as the barriers lifted.

How would most you handle this situation?

There was a guy that found my wallet in Utrecht Centraal, tried to give it to me while I’m on the train and the train started leaving🥲I was panicking so much and was contacting the NS klantenservice the whole time.

This sweet guy held on to it and didn’t leave the station for over an hour. I had zero hours of sleep that day and I couldn’t even react properly because I really wasn’t expecting to see him still waiting in the station😭😭

It’s been 2 months already but it keeps bothering me that I just took my wallet and left without getting a number :(( I’m so so grateful to this day, you really made me believe the world is still a good place 🥹🥹🥹 I really hope this post can get to him!! Please dm me if you know him/if you’re the guy!!!

I live in Limburg, and every time I do my groceries at Albert Heijn or Jumbo I’m struck by how poor the overall experience feels compared with supermarkets just across the border in Belgium.

The assortment is relatively limited, prices are high, and self-service checkouts seem to come with extremely frequent “random” checks. You scan and bag everything yourself, yet somehow the whole experience still feels less convenient and more distrustful.

Then I drive to a Carrefour hypermarket in Belgium and it feels like entering a completely different retail culture: huge assortment, much more choice between brands and price levels, larger quantities, more non-food products, and generally the feeling that I can decide what I want to buy rather than choosing between a handful of options selected for me.

And it’s not just Carrefour. Even Lidl and Aldi across the border often feel like they have a considerably broader assortment than their Dutch equivalents. That is what surprises me most: even …
