My bike this morning
Pics from my week and first time in Amsterdam 🇳🇱
Great architecture, museums and canals. Very walkable city (get good sneakers)
We are looking for a new home for our beautiful orange tabby, Nohut.
Nohut is a 2-year-old neutered male, around 5.5–6 kg, who was originally a stray in Istanbul. He is fully vaccinated and has had all the necessary health tests. He has a huge personality and is just like a golden retriever: loving, social, enthusiastic and energetic. He loves being around people and getting attention, but he is also very adventurous and loves exploring.
Unfortunately, Nohut is highly territorial with other cats. He and our other cat, Boncuk, have never been able to live peacefully together. Boncuk is a 12-year-old former stray who is very shy and easily stressed. She also has no teeth, which makes her particularly vulnerable when Nohut attacks her.
We tried for almost a year to find a way for them to live peacefully together, but nothing worked. Eventually, we had to keep them in separate rooms.
We recently moved to Amsterdam, hoping to find a home with a garden or safe outdoor access for Nohut. …
It seems even Meta employees do not what to be filmed by their own glasses? https://nos.nl/artikel/2632271-meta-haalt-satirische-video-roel-maalderink-over-camerabril-offline
I lost count of how many different beers I had, made by Dutch microbreweries/ breweries (no Heineken, Amstel).
From 4.2% to 20% ABV, so many good beers!
Just a few pictures I ‘remembered’ to click.
I got to know there are 600+ micro breweries in Netherlands 😱 lol can’t try them all in 10 days.
British expat missing the good stuff. Has anyone ever found a place selling crispy chilli beef?! I’ve seen it on the menu before but it’s never the same!
We’ve been living in this neighbourhood since the beginning of this year. My mother-in-law visits occasionally and parks in a public parking space in the street next to ours.
Once, a neighbour told her: “You’re not allowed to park here.” My mother-in-law replied that it’s a public parking space. Since then, she’s found a parking note on her car every time she visits. (See photos.)
On the latest one, someone even added a handwritten comment saying the message also applies to visitors from other streets.
The note asks people to park in their own street and leave the spaces available as much as possible for people who live directly beside them. Two or three months ago, these notes were also put through people’s letterboxes. Now they’re being left on cars too. We don’t know whether this is happening to many others.
I get that struggling to find parking is frustrating. But telling someone they’re not allowed to park somewhere, then leaving another note every time they visit, feels pretty …
