Made a small script which took a picture from webcam every 10 sec, video has 30 fps Basically one second = 5 minutes of sail

Living in Amsterdam for a year now, always getting blown away by this city and things happening, but today was something else…

Hopefully I manage to capture a bit of atmosphere with these photos, and if you can, make sure you visit these boats in the next few days!

My 2 month old baby has a bad allergic reaction to cat fur, it’s really hard to let him go but he needs a new home. We live in a 1 room apartment and there is no way to keep him. He is 2 year old, chipped and neutered originally from a big family with cats and dogs, so the most friendly cat ever that loves attention.

The most important thing for us is that he will be received well in a loving home, we need to he sure of that first. We dont want money, and can give every accessory that he has. Also we just dont want to bring him to a shelter as he deserves better, we dont want him to be slept in.

Today we went to see a movie with my partner and one friend of ours. No one else came and the screening was happening in the biggest possible room (for 700+ people).

I get why people don’t go to cinemas anymore and I understand that it’s still summer and the weather was good today. However this is not the first time I was watching a movie in an empty room. A genuine question: how a cinema makes enough money to survive? Overpriced snacks?

Its not perfect, its enough to make whatever normal life you want, with slow processes, but they work

Coming here changed my life in a way i couldn’t even dream of, and the more i experience it, the more I enjoy it

Workers rights and quality of life beat a good weather and good food any day of the week

I look to the future of this country with excitement and hope

And i will be forever thankful for the opportunity to make a life here worth living

But please help us out a bit with the language, is hard to find the motivation to learn such a hard language if its always English, i wanna learn

So I’ve been working as a handyman and am restoring a floor in this families house while they’re on holiday.

I’ve seen the neighbor a few times and exchanged pleasantries. She asked me what I was doing and I showed her the floor I was working on and apologized for the noise etc.

So a few days into the project I see her and she said she tried to knock to invite me to a have a coffee. I explained that with headphones in, earmuffs on, the vacuum on and running the orbital sander I didn’t hear the knock but a coffee would be nice sometime so I gave her my number so she could text me and I would hear the beep in my ears. She says well hey why don’t you come over for lunch tomorrow and I say cool, we set a time and I go back to work.

I saw her the next day in the morning as I was heading in and she asked me what I brought for lunch? I kinda lied and said I was planning on running to the store later to grab something but honestly I had kind of assumed she would be providing the lunch haha. …

Hi all,

This question is mainly directed to women living in NL. Do you feel safe walking alone in the street? Or biking/running in a (quiet) park or forest area?

I have been living in NL (Rotterdam) for 13 years and used to brag about how safe I feel in this country, but this has been consistently changing for the worse lately. I have the feeling there is a lot more catcalling and staring and it’s making me wonder whether this is something more women have noticed and whether is region specific, or whether I’m getting paranoid by all the news articles out there regarding this topic (also consequences, such as attacks on women).

Also, what do you do about it, or what is there to do about it? Changing behavior (eg not biking alone in a remote park) seems like the only option, but I’d rather keep leaving free and not have to resort to that.
