This man and his accomplice are often riding the metro in Amsterdam on different lines. They wait until the doors close before preaching loudly and aggressively to everyone on the train. They accuse people of various things and tell passengers they must choose between hell and their version of heaven, based on their lifestyles.
He then goes into ramblings about women, their role in the household, misogyny, homophobia, and similar topics. He is immediately defensive. If anyone gets close, suggests that he leaves, or gently puts a hand on his shoulder to ask him to stop, he reacts aggressively with “don’t touch me” and escalates. There is no reasoning with him; he only gets louder and more aggressive.
What can we do about this man? His behavior feels borderline abusive to people ride the metro.
Apologies for yet another Sail post, but I just got my scans back and wanted to share my experience
Hey all. I’ve been given permission to link this server here. :)
The weather is more regularly gaining a bit of a chill now and again, and with that comes saying hello to autumn! It’s time to fall into many a wonderful opportunity to make new friends outside as well as online!
We are the Amsterdam community, a place for Amsterdam-lovers to find each other. Myself and others use this space to set up hangouts both online and offline like restaurants or game events, and we would love to have you be a part of more! :) Our recent meetups have included heading to a park, going to a music festival, going to the movies, heading to the Rijksmuseum together, having welcoming drinks for a new resident, and devouring bites at a cafe, and were all fantastic fun! 😄
Like the subreddit, the server’s main language is English, but there is also a Dutch channel. Only friendly and respectful vibes are allowed. Dutch people and expats alike, welcome!

We were three—my mom, my dad, and me—and we’re from India, visiting the Netherlands. Yesterday, while walking to the Fort Sint Pieter in Maastricht, something scary happened—my dad fell and hit the back of his head while we were walking. For a few seconds, I didn’t know if he would be okay, and it was really frightening.
Even in that scary moment, we experienced a lot of kindness from strangers:
A couple driving by stopped and called an ambulance. They stayed with us until the ambulance arrived.
An elderly man whose house my dad fell in front of came out, offered water and a chair, and asked if we needed anything else. He even offered to drive me to the hospital when he learned the ambulance could only take one accompanying person (and we were two).
The Uber driver, seeing I put the emergency department as drop off location, asked if everything was okay and reassured me.
The staff at Maastricht UMC treated my dad with care, even though he didn’t speak Dutch and had limited …
So I applied for this vacancy today and I was fulfilling all the requirements, my cv is ATS optimized and I have several years of experience in the field I am applying for. Yet, I got rejected in 4 minutes after I made my applications. Usually I handle job rejections quite well but for this it drove me crazy because I am sure they didn’t even look at my CV 🤯🤯🤯🤯
I went to Het Nationale Park De Hoge Veluwe along with my friends and we had a great time there. But when we were about to leave the place, little did we know that there were three exits and we did not know where our car was parked. So we tried the first two exits in rental cycles and unfortunately our car was parked near the third exit and it’ll take 45 mins to reach there by cycle. But the problem was, one of my friend had a flight to catch in 3 hours and it would take 1 hour to reach the airport. So we tried all the options and as the final straw, I started to ask for lift and then I came across this couple and they immediately understood the situation and helped me. Thanks to them, we reached the airport on time. So a big kudos to them!
Years of using ebike has made my legs weaker, I don’t think I can bike as much as before. But let’s say the ban becomes real, where would these vehicles go? To the car lane? I think a large number of people cannot simply switch to traditional bikes. What is the goal here?
