The way the Box 3 taxes are being calculated currently (based on fictitious returns) is not ideal and we can all agree to this.

However, from 2028 the government wants to introduce a yearly 36% unrealized capital gains tax on a person’s investments. What this means is that if you owned an investment that increased it’s value from, let’s give an extreme example, 100,000 euros to 150,000 euros in a year, you would have to pay 18,000 euros in taxes even if you did not sell any of the stocks you owned.

This may sound insignificant or even “fair” to some, but it fundamentally breaks the way investments are supposed to work - namely, compounding interest.

If I buy 100,000 euros of an ETF tomorrow, and hold it for 20 years for my retirement and I assume a yearly growth rate of 7%, then my final investment would be about 387,000 euros. But if I have to pay a 36% tax on this yearly 7% growth, then it ends up being only 240,000 euros. This is massive difference! …

Lately (for about the past year or maybe two), every time I go out walking by myself, men or even teenage boys approach me. It’s not just “being friendly”, it’s constant unwanted comments, creepy compliments that are anything but polite, and this gross, slimy way of talking to me. They’ll pester me with endless “hi hi hi” and then call me a slut if I don’t respond. This never happened before (I live in NL since 2015).

I’ve even been using the official city app to report this kind of behavior, but instead of becoming less frequent over time, it’s actually gotten worse.

What makes it even more uncomfortable is that most of the people doing this are really young , teenagers or barely 20 years old, while I’m 40+. It feels so inappropriate and honestly disturbing.

I’m starting to feel less and less comfortable going out alone, especially after 6 p.m., since that’s when it usually happens (though not only then). I feel forced to take my bike even for very short distances, just so they …

Is it considered impolite to ask someone “How many sets are they left with?” if I am awaiting the use of an equipment.

The other day I got a reply “As many as I want”.

Was that a random rude person or am I in the wrong here?

Lots of very generic “how is the housing market”, “as a student i..” “is it safe here” . What they generally lack is any indication its actually about Holland, no areas are mentioned “ i fell in love with this place” , “i like it here, but”

No anecdotes, not reference, just semi bait that i hope most people don’t fall for.

It drives engagement metrics for this “no dutch allowed sub” but it’s bollocks how many posts are probably bots stirring things up.
