Hey all I have been working on this Amsterdam in Cities Skylines project since september 2022
I also made a video about it if u want to see more: https://youtu.be/V0nXHQAAtI0?si=BQrlpJllRFGI1SPS
A Vinted package via Mondial relay got redirected to a far away point on Tweede Oosterparkstraat. The building as an unfinished grocery that felt like a construction zone and the wait was 1hr. Surely this is not up to some code(s)?
I’m hoping someone living in Amsterdam could help. 9 years ago me and my partner fell in love, sat on a bench at this address. I was hoping to ask someone to take a picture from that bench looking over the bridge, ideally just as it’s getting dark. From there Im going to have a painting made for our anniversary. I know this is a long shot but you never know until you try right? If anyone living nearby could help I’d be eternally grateful.
But it also looks a bit like an Amsterdammertje :)

Someone has put this red light on my gf bike and can’t figure out why, it was parked in a bike rack in at my apartment building, it’s an old beat up 2nd hand bike, so I don’t think anyone would be planning on stealing it or anything… Anyone have any ideas? A space on the bike rack is quite competitive and my bike has been moved from there before.
I know it’s going to be difficult to ignore but the bell came with the bike!
I’m a beginner not a premium adult so I’m new to the reality of life. I’ve recently gotten a standard full time job, working from 7 to 16 o’clock mon-fri, most places, especially important places, are open from 8 ‘til 5pm mon-fri, when you take commuting as a factor, I barely have time to do anything but grocery shopping, unless I’m in a shopping centre where opening times are a lot longer than usual.
How do people manage this? A lot of places are closed during the weekend so how do people do anything? I find the work-life balance decent in the Netherlands, but does everything have to follow the “standard times”? Not everyone is a teenager or pensioner, I just find this very inconvenient
Before anyone comments what I expect will come from this type of post, generally I love the netherlands, most people are nice, friendly and helpful, and my quality of life has improved a lot since moving
SOLVING EDIT:
Just got a call from Dirk Headquarter and the put me through to the Manager. We had a good and long talk.
It was a misunderstanding due to language barriers and situational. I was in a hurry, had no basket with me. This with the mix-up with someone else. We now will say hi to each other each time. No bad feelings here.
Because a lot of people asked. It was not discrimination at all. I’m white, have a beard and I think on the street nobody can see, that I’m not dutch.
Thank you all for the good infromatios here
!TLDR: I was banned from dirk because I tried to leave the store without buying something.!<
