And I absolute love it!
I was born and have lived my whole life in Amsterdam. And the companies I worked for with different nationalities are hands down the best!
Thank you for coming, and I hope you have great time. Love ya all ☺️
Edit: Sorry for all the unfriendly comments. I just wanted to spread positivity!
Edit2: Thanks for the award you sweet people!
Hello Amsterdammers! We just left your beautiful city, and I noticed these as we flew out… Are they factory roofs? Solar farms? Please help me argument….
Bedankt!
I’ll start, roundabout on the Hugo de grootplein, specifically when you stay on the roundabout at the Febo side.
Hands down the worst spot for me. Doesnt matter if I even stick my hand down to the left, some cars dont give a fuck.
Curious to hear other spots!
I took a look at the new World Inequality Report from World Inequality Lab at the Paris School of Economics and I found this plot (Fig. 12, p. 22) in the executive summary.
The Netherlands has absolutely horrific result on effective taxing of ultra wealthy! I have heard about historical loopholes related to colonial past and Dutch overseas territories to siphon the money out of the EU, but I didn’t expect something so dramatic.
Hi everyone,
We live in the Netherlands and we’re looking for a name for our baby girl. We really love the name Naya, but a Dutch friend mentioned it could be misused as a twist on “naaien,” in the context “to bang.”
I’d love to hear from a bigger local audience: is this something people would actually associate with the name(especially older school kids and teens), or is it not really an issue?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
Edit: thanks everyone for your thoughtful answers. Those will definitely help us make a decision about it.
According to this article the Netherlands is gonna have it really bad with the new import fees, €3 (EU import) + €2 (NL handeling fee) = €5/per item
“Heijnen clarified in Brussels that the 3-euro fee applies to each individual product starting in July. So, for an order containing a pair of socks, a charging cable, and Christmas lights, consumers would pay an additional 9 euros on top of the product prices.
In addition to the import fee, the Netherlands plans to introduce a 2-euro handling charge per product as soon as possible. This means a parcel containing a single item would become 5 euros more expensive, while a package with three different items would add 15 euros to the cost.”
My colleague told me hot water is good to drink from the tap here. In my mind, this is a crime. Do you really drink hot water from the tap in the Netherlands?
Edit: Wow, this was more divisive than I thought! Now I have more questions, if you are one of those drinking hot tap water, what are you using it for? Just cooking? Tea/coffee? Straight up hot water?
